It’s usually an annual tradition for us to venture on the Alton Towers Waterpark in January/February time. However, we only just managed to get back after virtually 3 years away for obvious explanations. It was like nothing had ever gone on to but sure it was tremendous to be back! Of course, for apparent reasons I have no photos except those displayed on the website to share with you guys.
Entry & General Information:
It’s always incredibly easy to enter the Waterpark. Merlin Annual Passholders do receive discounted tickets which is always great! The lockers are 20p not a pound like most places and the changing rooms are unisex meaning it’s simpler for families & even couples. Of course, there are showers available some of which are cubicle style others are like your standard swimming baths. There are human dryers for £3/£4. It’s worth noting there is also a shop next door to the entrance which offers some vital bits you may need when swimming.
What Is There To Do?
Typically you all the indoor sections alongside the outdoor. However, during our visit, the outdoor pools weren’t open. Outside offers its own Hot Tub alongside two open-aired slides all of which are fun.
Inside, there are 3 slides in total to enjoy. Two of which are similar to your average Waterpark slides. One of which you have a selection of choosing the audio & lighting you slide down to and the other is very light as it does pop outside. The prominent slide is Master Blaster and it stretches pretty much across the whole Waterpark. All of which are included in your entry and the Master Blaster does offer photos if you are someone who holds a Digi pass.
Alongside the slides, there is also a whole bunch of entertainment bits to get up to. One of which is my personal favourite which is The Lazy River. It’s a place I could spend hours and I ain’t joking. It’s hard to become bored at this place. Admittedly, I did miss the balls that used to be about for the hoop in the deeper sections of the pool you first see. But as I was informed by a lifeguard during our trip that unfortunately, other guests had burst them all meaning there wasn’t any left.
Eateries:
You have two possibilities for food. The restaurant which offers Jacket Potatoes, Burgers, Sandwiches etc. Then you also have the small Costa Cafe which has an assignment of ice creams etc. You won’t be stuck for somewhere to eat and MAP holders remember you do obtain discounts too.
Is It Worth A Visit?
Yes, yes, yes! I adore the place so much. We tend to arrive for opening and leave just before closing there is THAT much to do and fill your day. There is something for the entire family right from little dots to adults. Nobody will be left out either.
Overall:
We had a lovely visit during off-peak although it was busier than I had expected. It was nothing but a giggle and we all found ourselves having the best time. Of course, we did miss the balls they used to pop out for guests & more greatly the outdoor pools. But that only gives us more of a drive to return in the nearby future. We’ll be back again soon no doubt! But if you’re contemplating it just do it you won’t regret it!
