After we visited Paultons Park the other month we’ve come away itching to return. It’s one of those places that’s almost impossible not to fall in love with. We’ve always cherished the place but since having Liara we have a whole new appreciation for it. So, here are 5 reasons we strongly believe THIS is the best theme park in the UK.
Regular Investment:
Paultons Park feels as if it is just continually making changes and investing. Last year they opened Ghostly Manor and this year they have a whole Viking Themed Area including their first thrill rollercoaster. The area from a distance and behind the construction fences just looks stunning (we’ve not been since the official opening). The level of detail they always include in their theming and storytelling never fails to amaze us. They are even opening up the UK’s FIRST water coaster which is something we are so excited for. Not to forget to ignore the previous major investment which was Tornado Springs and what an area that was & continues to be. Every inch of this area is themed.
Upkeep:
Honestly, this IS one of the best-maintained theme parks. It truly is stunning no matter where in the park you are. Even during our visit we saw a lot of the landscaping and grounds team continuing to make improvements across the park. There’s gorgeous planting, everywhere feels and looks pristine and the rides and their theming never look tedious at all.
Food Options:
Unlike most theme parks where you essentially have the basic junk food to choose from. We managed to grab ourselves a butter chicken curry which was reasonably priced and tasted really good too. Having that broader range of food options is very much appreciated because who wants to live on hot dogs and burgers? But more notably, the pricing of the food corresponds to the quality which is difficult to find at the majority of UK theme parks currently.
No Fast Track:
They don’t offer a fast-track system which works exceptionally well. You have two queues for most rides one of which is hardly a queue and that’s the easy access pass (this also works really well) and the main queue. During our visit, the park was extremely quiet so every ride had no queue and was walk on. Whereas when we’ve visited in the past during busier times typically all we waited for the more popular rides was 20 minutes or less. This system works I have no idea about the logistics, but I believe it’s due to the lack of queues and prioritising one over the other but either way, it’s brilliant.
Ride Offering:
It’s a family-oriented theme park with a touch of more thrill with their new Gerstlauer Eurofighter. But even prior to becoming a parent we’ve never had a bad day out here. The ride offering is tremendous for the whole family regardless of age. Of course, since becoming parents the gratitude for the park is beyond words now. Watching Liara fall in love with the whole of Peppa Pig World was genuinely magical. There’s so much for non-mobile babies and toddlers to do within their areas while riding alongside their favourite characters. It is magical and has to be THE best toddler area by miles. The quality and quantity of rides across the park are just incredible.

We genuinely adore this theme park and cannot find a single fault. It’s worth every penny you pay to enter and if you are an adult wanting a chilled day this is for you and if you are a parent to a toddler or younger children this is also the perfect place to visit. We love the place so much so we are itching to return for another visit this season!
