Opening Day of Alton Towers 2025…

It’s that time of year again when theme parks begin to reopen and Saturday was Alton Towers opening day! So, of course, that’s precisely where we headed!

Stepping foot through the gates it was a Toxicator takeover across Tower Street! The bunting all themed and the frogs were even dressed for the occasion!

CBeebies Land:

It was delightful to get back into CBeebies Land especially now Liara can confidently sit by herself it opened up more options for things to ride! First up was of course Postman Pat given nobody truly knows how much longer it’ll operate before the new rollercoaster comes in. Of course, Liara cherished this ride to the point she even had a little moan as she didn’t want to get off! Next stop for us was Bugbie Go Round which was not so much of a hit for Liara. CBeebies Land is always a firm favourite of ours there’s a lot for younger guests to experience that involve any height restrictions. Of course, there’s areas which do need a touch-up of TLC particularly Mr Tumbles Sensory Garden which feels very weathered. As I’ve mentioned before the sensory room is truly spectacular. It’s very helpful to us parents to SEN children as it’s a little area where we can go to cool off if it all gets too overwhelming outside that building. Seen parks think of this is really optimistic.

Brand New For 2025 – Toxicator:

Sadly we didn’t get time to ride Toxicator before we had to shoot off. However, the area surrounding it looks truly stunning. The attention to detail and depth of theming is really impressive particularly given it’s a flat ride too. It’s not something you see usually with supporting rides. The fact the Phalanx story has resumed and developed through this ride is truly brilliant too. We found it really exceptional by observing how it handled the initial lengthy queue and how the throughputs kept strong all day until the tunnel below truly became toxic with the sewage leakage not that had anything to do with the ride!

Changes Across The Park:

The sheer lack of entertainment is a very saddening touch across the park. Of course, Forbidden Valley had some actors roaming but very noticeably fewer than prior years. The Curse plaza had nothing which definitely lost that touch of magic. The fact the stage is fully gone from the lawns. Of course, there’s the typical Alton Towers curse of ride availability being insufficient across the whole of the park. Upon arrival, there was around 4 big rides open. Rita was running on 1 train too. Naturally, queues were horrendously lengthy but that’s always predicted on opening day. Something which gobsmacked us was the pricing of food and how the increase was so high but also parking too.

Overall:

All that being said we had a pleasant little family day and got to see some familiar faces which was nice. We’re aiming to return on an off peak day to experience Toxicator. It wasn’t the beginning of the season Alton Towers really needed following last year but hopefully, it’s just early days and the reliability can go on to improve! It was still lovely to return and make memories as a family.

Did you visit Alton Towers for the opening day? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
