Firstly, Happy New Year all! Hope your festive period was replenished with joy and happiness. It’s the annual tradition of throwing together a list of all the places with fresh rides joining or reopening the UK line-up to help you guys plan your trips! Admittedly, this year’s version is shorter compared to the previous but there are still some exciting projects to be hyped for. So, let’s get in.
Launch Pad – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
Over at Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Pleasure Beach Resort they are currently refurbishing and re-theming the former Ice Blast S&S Shot Tower. With its new name LaunchPad we should hopefully see this open alongside the park in March! We’re intrigued to whether it’ll be reformed to its former glory and how it will ride altogether.
Alton Towers – New Flat Ride:
Forbidden Valley is receiving a new addition in the form of a top-spin flat ride. In the location of the retired Ripsaw which departed back in 2015. It’s looking likely this ride will be ready for opening day which I believe is the 15th of March however there is no confirmation as of yet. There has also been no backstory nor name released yet but I’m sure that’s to come in due course.
Paultons Park – Ghostly Manor:
Paultons Park are finally getting a dark ride. What more could you want? This is somewhere that’s on the to-visit list for definite this season. This new attraction looks already well-themed and intriguing. You can even play a game to be in with a chance of winning tickets… click HERE to join in!
Lego Deep Sea Adventure Reopening – Legoland Windsor:
After a season away Deep Sea Adventure is coming back at Legoland Windsor. Aboard your submarine as you see the undersea world with sharks, fish and even some Lego sea creatures. This is the ideal attraction for the whole family to enjoy and it truly is a brilliant addition to the line-up. We are very enthusiastic to see the updates made throughout.
Skyride Reopening – Alton Towers:
Not necessarily a ride as such but more of a transport option across Alton Towers especially for those with restricted mobility or families with pushchairs. It’s not confirmed as to when it’ll be opening but given there’s been some active testing across the Christmas event it all leads to optimistic signs of reopening this season. This will help all guests can enjoy their day but also you get some beautiful views up high as you cross Wickerman & Dark Forest.
