Two of my favourite things in the world are Halloween & Disney and the two combined were as magical as you could guess. So, let’s have a chat about the changes and the additional entertainment that the park has its Halloween event.
Decor:
The park is covered in spooky decor. It’s adorable to see as well. Main Street has probably the most decorations obliviously but they do expand outside of there too. Frontierland is heavily themed around Coco which is as stunning as you can imagine. Everywhere is pretty much laced with pumpkins a lot of which are Mickey pumpkins too. It’s stunning I wish I could decorate my house the same way!
Disney Villain Den:
A small stage to the right of the castle is home to the villains for Halloween. These characters do alternate and aren’t always the same. They have a brief show (if you can call it that) prior to their meet & greet. Typically it’s 3 villains at one time and they get introduced through the stage with the oval screen showing their symbols with some rather cool audio too. Once they are completed on the stage they make their way down to the crowds and walk across the line meeting & greeting guests. For me, I expected a show from this stage rather than a brief meeting. That’s something I would like to see in the future but still, the stage is gorgeously themed and it’s nice to see different characters in this area.
Mickey’s Halloween Celebration:
I’m a sucker for parades they make me the happiest so the Halloween one was exciting. This by all means is not the same or similar length to Stars on Parade so I wouldn’t anticipate that. The the floats do stop around central plaza and some characters do come off and onto the four stages in these spaces for a show almost.
The audio for this is just something else. The characters are the classics such as Mickey, Minnie, Chip n Dale etc. It fab to see characters like the bride & groom from Phantom Manor. Although I do wish they had some more villains amongst the bunch. But that’s not to say this wasn’t a fab little show to embrace & celebrate Halloween.
Nightfall with Disney Villains:
A short 4 minute pre-show to Disney D Light with some villains. For some reason, I believed there was a whole new illumination show happening but that wasn’t the case, unfortunately.
Overall:
Halloween at Disney is so much more than decorations it spreads amongst the food outlets where you can take on spooky snacks, meals etc. The shows are fab and a lot of fun. Seeing the characters in their Halloween costumes are just precious. The whole atmosphere is pure cheery and fun. Of course, it does get busier than usual during this period but it’s amazing for everyone to enjoy.
Ps, I believe after we visited Disney Village is also getting into the spooky spirit!
