We somehow managed to avoid an enormous amount of spoilers for this area with the core insight being the plans. So, once the area opened we actively went out of our way to bypass seeing it except for a couple of photos on my behalf but Ant went in with no idea of what to expect.
Ps – I apologise now for the lack of photos in this blog. It turns out every time we stepped foot into this area our phone was either at the hotel or flat or we were just crap at getting content. Enjoy concept art images found from Google instead.. I do apologise.
Entrance:
It feels like an entirely different place. You step out of this Hollywood facade into something that feels extraordinarily futuristic. I found it to be one of those moments that didn’t feel real.
Theming:
There isn’t an inch of this area that isn’t themed. Recollecting my memory back to how it looked previously many years ago the improvements made are just mind-blowing. The buildings are all themed & there’s an entire ship which again feels bizarre. The flooring is even detailed. It truly is spectacular. So, stunning we barely got any photos in the area due to being mesmerised.
Eateries & Shops:
The area is home to two eateries one is a sit-down type of quick service and the other is an all-you-can-eat – I believe. We didn’t eat at either due to our half board which I believe does not cover these two restaurants (correct me if I’m wrong). There are a few shops in the area with the main one being the exit to WEB swinger I believe.
Meet & Greets / Shows:
You can meet & greet marvel characters from the likes of Spider-Man to the Guardians of the Galaxy characters. There’s an academy which hosts the said meet & greets too. Throughout the day there are multiple shows to catch as well like the dance-off between the Guardians characters etc.
The Rides:
The area consists of two rides. One of which is a re-theme to the now-known Flight Force (which deserves a blog of its own really) than a brand new Web Swinger which is similar to Ninjago. Out of the two rides, I’m not too sure which I prefer. However, I love the system on WEB in comparison to Ninajo. It just works so much better. Although my one gripe is the awful dubbing of Peter Parker in the pre-show. Both rides are fun and just give that nice finish to such a well-themed area.
Overall:
To, I thought the area was greatly tinier than I had imagined. Do not get me wrong it truly is stunning, particularly at night. The rides are brilliant. It’s made Studios feel like such a bigger park than it is. The finished product is beautiful nonetheless. There isn’t anything I would change in all honesty but like I said before it just felt a lot smaller than I pictured it to be. But I feel that comes down to the fact I haven’t entered that area since I was a very very small child & everything feels bigger when you’re a child. Either way, it is a brilliant addition to the park & it’s just what was needed. Although it does leave me wondering whether or not the Hollywood Tower of Terror will become a part of the area given it’s right on the edge.
