The World of David Walliams – Alton Towers Resort:
I was hyped from the get-go for this brand-new area & it certainly did not disappoint. There’s such a cheerful yet silly upbeat feeling surrounding it. I love how there’s roaming actors most of the time who is gleeful with their interaction. Of course, the headline attraction for the area; Gangsta Granny. A sweet & fun-filled with silly humour sort of ride which is right up our street. For the space & location, they had to play with its fab. It’s the precise ride to fulfil the desires of the full family!

Lego Mythica – Legoland Windsor:
My personal favourite of the year. I cherished this area prior to Hydras Challenge as that’s always been a guilty pleasure for me. Yet I never expected this area to be quite as extraordinary as it is. The main attraction is Flight of the Skylion & I still struggle to find the words to define how beautiful this ride is. It just takes my breath away every single time I have ridden this season & it’s one of those rides I am enthusiastic to get back on. It is so exceptional that I don’t think I can find the words to explain it.

Croc Drop – Chessington World of Adventures:
A brilliant and easy on the eye overall experience. The theming whilst off-ride is stunning & adding the combination of audio to the storyline as well it blends so effortlessly to establish such a wonderful ride experience whether you’re riding or not. On ride is equally as fun it’s not overly intense which is something I am appreciative of as I don’t usually do drop towers. But it still provides that’s level of fun to create a fab attraction.
War of the Roses – Warwick Castle:
It was our first watching this show this season for the Passholder preview event! Out of the shows we have seen at Warwick Castle over the years this is certainly one of our favourites. I found the show was the ideal variety of crowd interaction, storytelling and effects! It’s one of which I’ll happily go and watch again next year for sure.
Oktoberfest – Thorpe Park:
Our first year heading to Thorpe Park for their Oktoberfest event and it was as great as we had hoped it to be. The entertainment crew were all incredible and brilliant to be around. As well as the entire atmosphere was electric and buzzing from the energy and music contributed!
Scarefest – Alton Towers:
One of my favourite times of the year is the Halloween season & we have had Alton Towers pencilled into our diary for the last 5/6 October. This year certainly did not dissatisfy me either. It was lovely to have the opportunity to experience all the familiar mazes once again. Personal highlights for me were Altonville Mine Tours & Freakshow Toxic Junkyard. Both of which were at their utter best and scariest too.
Howl’O’Ween – Chessington World of Adventures:
Another event that is always a staple for us. It is home to one of the UKs best scare mazes, Creepy Caves Resurgence. This is a gorgeous family-style Halloween event which is often that refreshing break away from the full-on scares you need. It was probably the favourable I have ever seen it with the quantity of entertainment & spooky activities to explore outside of Creepy Caves!
Fright Nights – Thorpe Park:
Quite easily one of my favourite evenings of the entire season was the passholder preview for Fright Nights. The park was atmospheric with the loveliest vibe you could ask for. I also found one of my all-time favourite scare mazes in Trailers. It was amazing to see the incredibly tense doors of Creek Freak Massacre open once again after a year away last year. I admired the park for offering the opportunity for guests to see Platform 15 off as well.
Alton Towers Fireworks:
And finally, the only way we know how to send off such an amazing year of adventures, new rides & outstanding events is Alton Towers Fireworks. The final ride of every season since 2016 has been on Nemesis, it’s almost like a tradition for us now. The celebration of Alton Towers 40th birthday just made these fireworks feel that tad more affectionate and personal. It really has been an unbelievable year for the park & we honour this finale of the season every year. It was the best I have ever seen the fireworks, lighting & overall production.
