If you’ve checked out our Legoland Windsor blog you’ll know this is day 2 of our trip. We’ve done a 4 day UK trip and we’re sharing full coverage from each of the parks. We’d love to know your thoughts on these places so be sure to follow our social media accounts.
Room on the Broom:
We have shared a full in depth review which will be linked here but we’ll briefly touch on it for those who doesn’t want to read it. As an attraction it takes you into a whole new magic world given the heavy theming. There’s lots of attention to detail and smaller elements which make it. However there’s room for small improvements like instead of a normal worker, walking you through perhaps an actor themed to the attraction would work better instead.
Throughput & Operations:
This is something which couldn’t be faulted for Chessington. The queues were kept to the minimal Friday and the part of Thursday we were there. There was school trips but they just didn’t effect the queue times or anything really. Vampire seems to have only one train in operation at the moment as the other is in pieces in the maintenance shed. Of course that’ll cause complications for on peak days but isn’t much of a bother during off peak.
Few closed rides:
At the time Tiger Rock, Seastorm & Black Buccaneer are closed for pro long winter maintenance. Whilst we were on park all the attractions minus Black Buccaneers was having work done to them. So hopefully they’ll be up and running again soon but just something to be mindful of if you got any upcoming visits. There is a sign at the entrance explaining the closures.
Merchandise:
Just like Alton Towers they’ve released plenty of new merch including pin badges, bags , cups etc. The pricing is a fair bit cheaper then Towers given the pin badges are priced at £3.50 whereas Alton Towers are £4/£4.50. There’s a couple of rare pin badges on offer to including a Gruffalo 20 years, Safari Sky Ride & Rodeo.
Overall:
Anyone who knows us will know how much we adore Chessington. It’s a park that’s we didn’t wish to leave given the day & half we had. They are regular investors and are keeping the resort looking beautiful & modern. There’s so much to do other than rides such as the zoo and sea life. The staff are always very warm and will happily take time out of their day to explain things about the animals. It’s easily one of the best merlin theme parks alongside Alton Towers. We’d highly recommend going and giving it a try this season.
