Our Least Favourite Dark Rides & Why?

We are huge fans of dark rides but of course from time to time there’s a handful which we don’t necessarily enjoy. There’s so many reasons as to why we don’t like them but here’s 5 of the rides we aren’t a fan of. By all means these are just our opinions and there is no order to this blog post. We’d love to know your opinions on this topic too.

Alice – Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It’s actually quite hard to pop this ride into this list in all honesty. It’s such a classic. But in reality it’s one of our least favourites strictly down to how outdated it feels. It could well be updated and made into one of the best. But at its current state it’s unfortunately one of our least favourites.

Laser Raiders – Legoland Windsor:

I find this ride really underwhelming but I did experience Ninajo before my first ever ride on here. I can’t deny the set pieces do look good. But the ride just feels as if it’s lacking so much especially  with such a modern dark ride next door.

SeaAqarium – Fantasy Island :

I once treasured this dark ride as a child but during our last visit in 2016 it felt so dated. Barely anything had changed from when I was really young. There’s so much room for improvement & potential that it’s hard to not feel disappointed by it.

Room on the Broom – Chessington:

It’s hard to not believe we have actually just fallen quite unlucky with this attraction. As a lot of people do say how fab it is. Theming wise and the more modern aspect is absolutely gorgeous. But it just doesn’t work from our experiences. We do really appreciate how interactive they’ve tried to make it but whenever we’ve done it. We have either missed those interactions due to the batching of the groups or stood around feeling quite meh by it. Of course it’s aimed for children that’s no doubt why we do feel this way. But our last run through even the children had no idea what was happening. It has potential to work and hopefully now it’s had a full season it will be better.

Derren Browns Ghost Train- Thorpe:

Okay, we once were huge fans of this ride. But has since become stale and that’s with the constant changes. It just isn’t enjoyable at all. The VR is unreliable and an element which we feel doesn’t work that greatly. Our favourite year for this ride was 2017 with the introduction of the fab finale but now it’s become almost as if they’ve tried to hard on making this a “terrifying” attraction. We always say how we would of loved it to be more Phantom Manor style or a trackless Ghost train instead.
