Following up from our Loggers Leap blog we thought we’d share our thoughts on overall SBNO rides. We’ll be discussing what we’d like to happen to some and just general chat about them. As always we understand not everyone may agree with us however we’d love for you to join this chat.
One SBNO ride which doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb in our opinion is Pirates Adventure. If you didn’t remember or know there was a ride within that building you’d never notice it’s missing. It looks more like part of the theming for the area. Of course if you study the outside you can see the ‘Pirates Adventure’ sign which has been removed but vaguely can see it still. Something we couldn’t understand from this ride was when the Pirate with the map got redone and placed outside again. As we initially thought it might of been a hint of it’s return yet nothing has happened since. It’s been over a year since that minor change. We’d love to see this boat ride reopen for sure however given the tough times recently it may not be possible for now. However we are behind Drayton Manor all the way and will stick with them for the future.
Alton Towers is the place with most SBNO rides even with Charlie’s building now been used for The Dungeons. There’s Sub Terra & Ice Age 4D cinema standing but not operating. Sub Terra’s building was used for a scare maze last Scarefest which is always fab to see as it’s given that surrounding area that bit of life again. However there’s no boards blocking either of those building. The countless times we’ve heard people walk past and amongst their group discuss sub terra is crazy. Ice Age blends into the area and you wouldn’t really noticed it was once a ride. Sub Terra we’d love to see reopen with or without actors it really doesn’t matter for that experience in our opinion. However if it’s going to be used for scarefest then make the announcement to allow people to be aware it won’t be returning. Whereas Ice Age could be easily replaced with something that isn’t an IP but either way a replacement would be perfect regardless.
We’d love to know your thoughts on SBNO rides and how you feel about them. This blog is all speculation in regards to what we think.
