Celebrating Maximus & New 2026 Rides Coming To Crealy Media Event #GIFTED

A massive thank you to the team at Crealy for inviting us to celebrate Maximus turning 25 years old but also for a glimpse into their future during their media event. We truly appreciate the opportunity and had the absolute best time.

The Start of Our Evening:

Upon arriving at The Clubhouse we were able to choose our welcome drinks from the bar before getting comfortable ahead of John Haywood’s talk. During this speech there was a fun little quiz for guests to win prizes but also fun facts around Maximus part of the reason we were there. It was insightful but intriguing to hear about the park’s history alongside facts surrounding Maximus too.

2026 Plans:

Next year is truly shaping up to be a memorable year with 2 brand new additions set to open at Crealy. One being the tallest ride in Devon and the other being Devon’s FIRST inverting ride. Details are few and fair but the fact that the park is bringing two brand new rides to their park is exciting. It’s delightful to hear the park has been giving attention to feedback in terms are housing all guests’ preferences and including all ages with the inverted ride joining their line-up. When more facts are disclosed we’ll be sharing a further blog talking about them both.

Gift Bags:

We kindly provided gift bags which included a bunch of stationery items, a pirate’s flag, 4 return tickets to use by the end of 2026, an unlimited digital photo pass, a gift card for £25 & a keyring.

The Theme Park:

Heading into the theme park for our first time was very pleasantly surprising as well-presented it was. We headed over to Maximus for our exclusive ride time courtesy of the media event. What a cute little runaway mine train it has bonus points for the fact that it’s Maximus just makes it even cuter. We had a few laps each (Liaras a smidge too small) & really loved how fun it was for a family rollercoaster. We took a walk around the park with stopping at one or two more rides as we went. It was very apparent how bright the future feels for this theme park. There are themed rides, a selection of different rides for guests of all ages to enjoy too. During the dark, there’s a real feel-good atmosphere in the air like how theme parks should feel. The lightning packages across the rides were stunning. It’s a lovable little theme park with so many possibilities in the coming years that we can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Food:

With only two food outlets open during this event it was safe to say the Pizza shop was very busy. However, hats off to the staff for how much hard work went into trying to keep the queue to a minimum and still delivering food at their best quality. The queue was long as was the wait for food but we appreciated how much pressure the staff was under to get everyone fed and served to their ability. The quality of the food was flawless. It was warm, delicious and had good portion sizes. There’s currently an offer on that’s 2 pizzas & 2 sides for £25 and that alone is more than enough to feed a family of 4.

Fire Fusion Display:

The evening closed with a lovely celebratory pyrotechnic display at Maximus. There was fire, fireworks and audio to go alongside. It lasted around 5/10 minutes but was rather epic given the size of the area to produce this kind of show. It was the ideal way to celebrate 25 years of Devon’s FIRST rollercoaster but also the park’s future too. We totally enjoyed this display and it was that sweet spot of length and a really good little show too.

Overall:

Having the pleasure to join the park in celebrating the momentous anniversary of Maximus alongside the future of what’s to come was truly superb. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring this new-for-us theme park and it’s safe to say it’ll be on our annual to-do list. It’s fun, captivating and the future is extremely bright. The team absolutely smashed this media event the nice relaxed atmosphere was a welcome surprise from other events of this nature we’ve done. We can’t thank the team at Crealy enough for inviting us along!

Honesty, THIS is a theme park to watch in the coming years. 2026 is the year with 2 brand new attractions but the future of this place is very bright and set to be one you don’t want to miss that’s for sure.
