I Miss The OG Nemesis…..

Yeah, this isn’t a clickbait title and I’m sorry to rage people too. But I’ve had a few rides of Nemesis Reborn and my judgment remains the same unfortunately. I know this will trigger a few by all means that’s not my intent so understand opinions will vary but that’s not to say mine are right and yours are wrong. That’s the fun of this hobby we all view things differently!

I’m the first to speak positively and share my love for the Nemesis lore. Everything about the Nemesis story and narrative is always so well composed and conveyed. It’s hard not to love it. The marketing team during the refurbishment totally nailed it. They drew people back to the soul of Nemesis, The Phalanx and the whole storyline behind Forbidden Valley. This is a characteristic of Nemesis I’ll always long for more of and especially would love to see a full-blown storybook established on this ride. To capture people the way it has that goes to show how insane the team are with this story.

Besides the insane storytelling, you then have the physical ride experience itself which right now isn’t in the best place it’s been personally. In all honesty, I’ve not had 1 single ride since the re-opening where I came off like that was actually brilliant. That’s tragic really given every ride of the OG nemesis was like “Wow what a coaster” sort of moment even during the backend of its operational days.

The ride experience whether it’s the carriage or the track I’m not entirely sure but the consistent juddering and rattle sensation takes away from the entire experience itself. You can’t enjoy something when it feels that uncomfortable. I enjoy rides that have the edge of roughness but I wouldn’t explain the motion as that it’s more just an annoying judder. The first time riding it like this the feeling only happened around the last inversion & bend into the brakes. I thought it was possibly the seat I was in as my mum who was in the inner seat didn’t feel what I was describing. Next ride was a different row and seat and this time it was consistent.

I enjoy the extra theming and storytelling that’s happened since the refurbishment. The Nemesis story always did deserve more theming than it had and of course, we now have that. Everything which changed and reformed in the re-tracking other than the physical ride experience was great. However, this experience at the moment really needs looking at.  I personally wouldn’t ride it again unless it’s on a 10-minute or lower queue time. I’m not saying Nemesis Reborn as a whole is awful by any means I just miss the ride experience of the OG version.
