Travel Blog – Charles De Gaulle Airport to Disneyland Paris Marne Le Valley/Chessy – Part Two

If you haven’t read part one feel free to go back & have a smooch about our experience through the airport, the link will be HERE. So, we opted to catch the TGV train to Disneyland Paris given it’s a 9-minute. This was our first time doing this journey. Therefore, those regulars will likely read this like you fools but that’s okay we all live & learn!

So, we had our train booked for 8:48 with our landing time set to be 8:20. Admittedly once we sat on the plane with a 20-minute delay I knew this was very gullible of us to give such a short amount of wiggle time for situations like what we found ourselves in. That wasn’t a problem as our travel insurance covers the cost of the additional train ticket needed to be purchased. So, we arrived at the train station for around 9:15/9:20 am. Headed straight to the boarding gates and explained what has happened are we able to use the existing tickets we have for the next train? Typically, here in the UK with Trainline tickets that are usually alright to do. However, we were told rather rudely this was not going to happen. Then got pointed in the wrong direction to purchase a new ticket.

After figuring that out we then had a 1 hour & 20-minute wait for the next train. The Trainline app never showed any trains until Tuesday (the following day) so definitely check the kiosks knocking about for the next train if this happens to you. So, after the dreaded hour & twenty minutes wait the train arrived after a 5-minute delay. But completely up the other end of the platform to what we had been told to wait at. The train was exceptionally busy with no free seats. That wasn’t an issue given how brief the journey is.

Once our stop come we went to get off but were barricaded in by a man who decided to pile 4-5 large suitcases against the bright red door which had an obvious text saying “exit”. God forbid there was ever a fire on that train nobody within that cabin would have had a chance. A nice man got off after tossing the suitcases aside to then help people out. The stress was beyond words at this point. Some random man had to literally help us off this train else we would have missed our stop, this stuff just doesn’t happen!

Once you exit the train you make your way towards the exit and you are quite literally in Disneyland Paris. You can catch the shuttles to the on-site hotels or if you’re located by Disney Village you can also walk to your hotel. So, once you arrive it is incredibly straightforward to get to your hotel.

Travelling back to the airport was a lot painless than going. The train station at Disneyland Paris is very manageable to read and understand. I wouldn’t attempt to get an earlier train as the staff were yet again remarkably rude and found us laughable for enquiring.
