The other weekend we headed to West Midlands Safari park for the first time so here’s a blog about our day and thoughts! We hope you enjoy this blog and feel free to share your thoughts below or across our socials.
Safari Drive Through;
Videos and vlogs don’t do it much justice and that goes for the entire park. The drive through itself lasted us about 1 hour 45 minutes and you can drive through as many times as you like. The animal food is £3.50 each and it’s truly a incredible experience especially when elsewhere it’s over £20 to feed the giraffes but you can feed them with the £3.50 food. Every time you drive through it’s a different experience. There’s various animals and it’s truly incredible how close they get to your car. For those who adore animal encounters and experiences this is easily the best we’ve experienced. You can book yourself onto the tour guide bus which is £6.50 each. When your in your own car you can take your time and stop wherever you want which was really lovely.
Adventure Theme Park:
Admittedly we didn’t expect there to be much for us to do however they were some real fab rides. There’s 3 coasters all of which were family coasters including a big apple coasters which when you need the count (cred) you have to do it! The rapids are really fab actually and they get you wetter then most of the bigger rapids like Rumba and Congo River Rapids. They are real small boats but in a sense it’s kind of like Storm Surge meets Rapids. Other than that there’s a log flume, flat rides and plenty for families / children to do.
Inside The Park:
Safari isn’t where the animals encounters end once heading into the main park there’s Penguins, Sea lions, bat cave etc. There’s countless things to experience which are included in the price of just the Safari tickets. You can also head into the theme park and see what you’d like to do and whether it’s worth getting wristbands or tokens which is a fab idea. There’s lemur woods and goat / sheep walk through towards the end of the theme park as well. Inside the park there’s a Lorikeet Feed which is only £1.50 to purchase the nectar and they are some of the sweetest ones I’ve encountered. They were landing on you whether you had food or not. The whole experience within the park is really fab there’s so many shows and things to see & experience.
Overall:
West Midlands Safari as a whole was completely different to what we had expected. There’s so much to do and many things which aren’t even on the website to do as well. Opening hours were perfect given how much there is to do within the park and how long the actual Safari takes. When you book online you receive free return tickets with some dates not been included. However your free return ticket doesn’t include the adventure theme park which for us isn’t an issue as we’ve done it once and when we return we may just buy ride tickets instead. It’s a real adorable place and has so much to offer and much more than it seems on YouTube!
We hope you enjoyed this blog & we’d love to know your thoughts below or across our socials. If you haven’t already visited West Midlands Safari we’d recommend checking it out. It’s easily a whole day experience and is perfect for the entire family.
