So, I am not too sure whether it is just me who wants Chessington to host a scream park event for those 14+ in the evening once the park closes. But with Halloween around the corner, I couldn’t resist putting together a blog post to have this discussion with you guys about what I think would be fab for the park to invest in the future. Of course, this post is purely established on my thoughts and I completely understand there could be several circumstances that come into play when it comes down to whether or not this may not be an option or can happen. But without further ado, let’s have a chat!
Chessington host a tremendous Halloween event and always have done too. But for me, the show stopper is Creepy Caves. This maze reveals how incredibly talented the team who developed this maze are. Which also leaves me thinking what else could they be able to put together and how insane could it be? I feel Creepy Caves just touches the sides of what this team are capable of and if it is just a small vision there is so much more to be appreciated & experienced.
Creepy Caves is easily one of the best UK scare mazes and I’m fairly optimistic in saying that pretty much anyone who’s experienced this maze will agree? So, that leads me onto thinking about how a Scream Park could be exceptionally beneficial for the park and the creative team behind the scare mazes currently. They could easily close the park at 6 pm re-open for 7 pm and have around 3 or 4 scare mazes on offer including Creepy Caves. Have the event for 14+ only and use some of the existing Halloween attractions within the park for events on the evening like the trick or treat walk through but make it more outrageous. I’m not entirely sure on locations for the said mazes or how they would police the crowds not going into areas forbidden especially if they weren’t to open the rides during the event.
They could even open up some of the spooky-themed rides to add to the event and charge a tad more to cover the cost of the staff & etc. I know Thorpe Park Fright Nights is just down the road but putting together a package for both events could easily promote people to do Fright Nights during the day and Chessy on the night. But it could also, help encourage people to stay for even longer! I know me & our scare maze addicted family would adore that!
But in all honesty, this could well be a lush event that I’d be more than happy to pay £20-£30 for a standard ticket to experience it. I really do believe the park would make a killing from this kind of event especially given the quality of the previous mazes.
What do you guys think? Is it something you’d love to see happen in the future? I’d love to know in the comments or across our socials.
Thank you so much for reading!
