We’re back on the topic of wooden rollercoasters. I recently shared my thoughts on the UK & whether an RMC will ever be added to the coaster line up, the post will be linked HERE. But today is all about another topic which is very popular amongst us all. Which is does the Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s wooden rollercoasters need a GCI re-track? This is only based on my personal opinion & by all means, I don’t know anything nor do I know all the technical bits that come along with this kind of project…. so no judgments, thank you.
Okay, let’s start with the fact that I love all the wooden rollercoasters which are on offer at Pleasure Beach. They each have their unique features which makes me love them. Yet I can’t deny the fact they can be brutal & uncomfortable seat & row depending. I’m unsure as to whether the fact the quality of ride you’ll have is very seat/row dependent allows them to be a good coaster.. that’s another topic for another blog post, however.
I think the two major woodies (Big Dipper & National) do need work doing to them. But I believe all that can be done in-house by the team at Pleasure Beach & potentially be equally as good as GCI could offer & no doubt be a lot less harsh on the money front. I think when that day comes when they need it which could well be this season or next Pleasure Beach will do them justice.
The main parts of the track which I feel are in desperate need of replacing is the double down on Grand National. That is genuinely the most painful part of that ride or at least the bit which sticks out the most to me. But as I said I’m fairly confident the team at Pleasure Beach could easily re-track this for less money than GCI would charge & do equally as a good job.
What’re your thoughts on this?
Yh could do with new tracks because there rough
