I don’t think any of us have actually thought of the impact we could have in theme parks future and current states. Yet majority of you guys have incredible creativity and ideas for the theme parks you visit. Therefore should theme parks listen to enthusiast more & take ideas on board?
DISCLAIMER: I actually have two sides the answer to this question. But please remember this blog post is simply my opinion & shouldn’t be taken too seriously. However feel free to express to opinions to us in the comments.

I have no doubt that majority of parks take on board what enthusiast say. However should we have a bigger influence on these parks futures. There’s two answers to this question one of which is yes and the other is no. Let me begin with yes! The community is packed with very creative people & with people who have nothing but bright futures in mind for majority if not all theme parks. As an enthusiast we visit more regularly then the average guest. We also discuss amongst ourselves which can include an insane number of people what we think is best for each park we visit. A lot of us have travelled the world and seen how a variety of rides & attractions work for each of those parks. Therefore the knowledge of what’s relevant and interesting for now is quite high amongst many. As potentially a guest who likely visits more than 10 times a season surely our opinions should matter?
However I can see why perhaps we aren’t key in future investments and park development. How are parks expected to grow if they fulfil enthusiast needs instead of thinking about the wider audience of the guest who may need something to draw them in? As much as for us enthusiast have insanely talented ideas some of which may only appeal to our community. Whereas the parks have full view of what ride is most popular that season, what draws in the most money and what works for elsewhere. There’s only a fraction which we get to see and that is simply what is visible to everyone. If a park was to only hear our ideas and feedback would that mean that eventually it would only be enthusiast visiting? Therefore I can see as to why our opinions aren’t THAT important compared to the average guest.

Basically I think it really does depend on the idea from enthusiast and the park itself. Some places simply need the tiniest improvement and if us enthusiast were heard it could well be a huge impact on the future. Whereas if the parks only cater what for we would like to see there’s a potential that it’d end up an enthusiast show rather then thousands of guest. I’m fairly confident that parks hear us and what we would like to see. Who knows what does the future hold?
