Underappreciated Things At Theme Parks

This blog is based around things we personally have found to be less appreciated then deserved. We’ll try and explain the best we can as to why we feel like this. As always we understand & respect not everyone may agree however we’d love to know your thoughts.

Staff:

This is something we’re very strong on and that’s the staff aren’t appreciated enough. We’ve never been theme park staff ourselves so we can speak from a guest point of view & how we’ve witness them get treated by other guest. There have been times we’ve overheard somebody going in on a member of staff over their child not been tall enough. We’ve also heard staff getting verbal abuse for ride breakdowns or closures. It’s really uncalled for it’s not their fault but as frustrating as it may be for people wanting the best out of their day it’s out of their hands. The reality is it’s more than likely to be somebody been irresponsible on the ride or throwing stuff into the ride area. Every chance we get to show that bit of appreciation to the staff we grab it. We’ll thank them for checking we are safe, once we exit & entering the ride. It’s rare to encounter rude staff members & it’s not hard to just say thank you.

Theming / Scenery:

Now this is one of the things which no doubt annoys us all and that’s vandalism. There’s nothing worse than a brand sign, ride theming or whatever been added, then within months it has graffiti over it. It just looks vile and really shows how disrespectful people can be. The amount of money and time that goes into making theme parks visually beautiful for people to get bored and ruin it. These things happen in an everyday life but we personally can’t understand it. I just wish everyone could appreciate what the parks put into place for our enjoyment.

Food outlets:

There are a handful of food outlets we can say are very underappreciated. Food quality is usually fab and the pricing isn’t always too bad. A place which comes to mind is the Hot Wraps opposite Wickerman at Alton Towers. It was something like £4 for pulled chicken wrap or vegetarian option. We lived out of this food outlet during 2018 season it’s super affordable and filling. Yet every time we were on park it hardly had a queue. Fins Bar & Grill at Thorpe Park is also underrated the food quality has come on leaps and bounds since 2016. Yet it’s easily some of the best food we’ve come across we do agree healthier options should be easier to get your hands on though.

If you’ve enjoyed this blog and would like a part two feel free to let us know. We’d love to know your opinions on this topic too.
