Event Review| Drayton Manor 75th Anniversary Fireworks

So, after travelling from Clacton we decided to have a child-free evening at Drayton Manor with only an hour before the fireworks. It was definitely worthwhile even if the weather chose to be very British!

Atmosphere:

The contrast from the last time we did the fireworks to now is wild. Drayton Manor has truly transformed itself into a better version and is filled with atmosphere. Pre-fireworks there was a DJ set and despite the weather, it honestly did feel like a celebration to end the summer just like desired to. Before we arrived the summer event was in full force we caught some remains of the foam party etc. Even though it was a DJ set we caught it was rejuvenating to catch a theme park some entertainment and life to it.

The Rides:

By the time we arrived, most of the rides had shut their queue lines but we managed to catch some of the newer areas in the dark. The Viking area is the primary area and the lightning during the dark is brilliant.

The Fireworks:

We were surprised these went ahead given the rain we had but fair play to the park. The display lasted around 15 minutes and it was celebrating Drayton Manor through the 75 years with different songs from each decade with the old classic Drayton Manor advertisement audio over the top too. It felt truly nostalgic. As someone who’s visited Drayton Manor since a young child well over 20 years now, it’ll always hold a special place in us both. We had a very intense downfall of rain midday through which threw the timings off but it was super amazing especially given the weather conditions. We love watching the firework displays here.

Overall:

Without getting too soppy but these firework celebrations & the trip down memory lane of the park’s history just reminded us how lucky we are to have Drayton Manor on our doorstep step but also to have followed the park along the years we have done. It may have been a brief and sweet visit but we had the best time. Drayton Manor is the park that keeps giving and improving in recent years and I still stand by the fact that this park is an underdog that’s transforming itself year after year! We can’t wait for more days at the park for the remainder of the season.
