It’s spooky season time! Although in the UK we have to wait for the start of October the announcements are coming in thick and fast. So, here is what we know so far but this blog will continue to be updated when more is announced. Please click the subheadings to access the websites for each event.
The Haunted Manor – Drayton Manor
Drayton Manor has recently shared their Halloween offering which includes scare attractions, a DJ, spooky food & drinks & fireworks. The scare attractions include Castle of Shadows & The Haunted Express both of which are an upcharge at JUST £3pp with the recommended age been 10+. Alongside these two attractions are scare zones that include Chaos Cove, The Haunting: Reclaimed & Vikings Ragnarok. This event will be running from the 28th to the 31st of October.
Journey to Hell – Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Journey to hell this year is shaped with various scare zones, haunted ride areas & live entertainment. This year’s lineup includes The Lost, Carnevil, Caro Loco Dodgems, Impossible Freak House, The Ghost Train Vault of Shadows, Twisted Tunnels & The Legend of the River Caves. With an entire assortment of scares to enjoy this Halloween, you can purchase your tickets now. This event will operate from the 13th to the 31st of October.
Tulleys Shocktoberfest:
This year sees the return of all the mazes with no changes except for the increased age restriction for the overall event. This includes the new 2022 Doom Town and Electric Circus. Both of which were brilliant additions to the lineup. This event will run from the 29th of September to the 31st of October. To read our thoughts on last year’s event click HERE.
Xtreme Scream Park:
It seems this year’s event will include the favourites such as The Village, Pie Factory, Belvoir Manner & Ash Hell Penitentiary. Alongside the return of one of the latest mazes Uncle Enso’s Open Acres. For the 2023 season, there is a brand new maze called The Witches of Hard Luck Wood as well as an upgrade for the Unfair Funfair with a brand new Warehouse of Weird Wonders. Of course, it was recently shared that Hoodoo Voodoo will not be returning which is the only maze lost for this season. This event will be running from the 6th of October to 31st of October. Alton Towers Scarefest:
It seems Alton Towers has seen a reasonable shake-up this season with fan favourites returning such as Trick or Treat Town, The Attic & Darkest Depths. Entertainment also returning for the season includes CBeebies Land Monster Party, Freaky Fun Zone & Alton Ancestors. Over at Altonville Mine Tours, this maze is returning but under a new take with Tinys Revenge. Alongside the returning classics is a brand new scare zone located near Wickerman called Burial Grounds & a brand new experience Daz Games: Panic which is an escape room meets scare maze! This event will run from 7th – 31st of October on selected dates (click subheading for more Info)

Fright Nights this season you can expect the return of Crows Mawkin Meadow, Trailers, The Survival Games & Death Doors. New for 2023 includes Creature Campus which sees the return of Lycanthorpe & Amity High with their story developed alongside new characters Witches. Alongside this is a brand new scare zone called Lucifers Lair & a brand new scare maze Stitches. This event is running between the 6th to 31st of October.
Chessington Howl’o’Ween:
This Howl’o’Ween sees the return of the scare zone Vile Villagers! Unfortunately, Creepy Caves has retired but seems to be replaced by Enchanted Hollow which is an underground trick-or-treat style of attraction which is an upcharge of £8 for adults & £10 for children. Alongside the scare attractions are spooky shows for all the family to enjoy! This event will be operating between the 7th of October to the 30th!
Screamfest Burton:
2023 sees Screamfest Burton expand their attractions by adding an additional 2 to the lineup. Alongside the new attractions, the incredible 5 scare mazes return again. The likes of Hillbilly Joes Zombie Zoo which is a firm stand-out for me. This event will run from 6/10/23 to 31/10/23. Those two new attractions include Area 51 which is an alien shooting tractor experience which is an up charge to your entry tickets. The second new attraction is known as Pyscho Circus with little details shared yet!
Walsall Scare Maze:
A little scare event within Walsall but it’s not one to miss. This year has seen an overall change as well as new additions. The scarehouse itself is returning but with brand new scenes and scares. Alongside this is a brand new attraction called Enola which is a brave it alone style attraction that’s set around a mind altering drug infusion. This event will run from the 7th of October to the 4th of November on selected dates. Check out our thoughts from last years event HERE.
Dr Frights Halloween Nights:
This season is to see a big change with the overall event which is now known as Route 666. It appears this is going to be one very long scare attraction that will take you through multiple scare sections within one go. It appears there’s 7 sets you will encounter which including Deadwood Forest, Downtown Hell.A & The Grindhouse. Open daily from the 13th of October to the 31st. This is one of the scariest events we’ve ever done check out last years blog for our full thoughts HERE.
