As a theme park enthusiast, you gradually gain an adequate percentage of awareness of how to plan a theme park trip to make the maximum out of it or even know if it’s valuable. Therefore, I thought I’d share those questions I often ask myself during the trip planning stages that I think are significant to analyze when planning yourself. I hope this is relatively beneficial.
What Are The Opening Hours?
I always think this is the fundamental component in trip planning. Are the opening hours justifiable for the extent of travel that’s needing to be attained? Will I get at least half of the rides I want to get done within this timeframe?
Is Parking Free? What is The Payment Method?
A minor something that often pops up and is an unexpected expense sometimes. Doing your research beforehand can save you so much time on the day particularly if you can pre-book meaning it’s one less burden on the day.
Are There Any Discounts Available On These Tickets?
It’s always wonderful to feel as if you have saved a few pennies when planning your days out. Having a little Google before dedicating to purchasing any tickets is my recommendation. By all means check your staff discounts at your workplace, Tesco Clubcard and so many more apps & sites that offer discounts on days out. I’ve written an entire blog post specifically that which can be found HERE.

Is There Any Event On The Day Of My Visit?
Often events mean larger crowds but also more entertainment to comprehending. So it’s worth weighing up if it’s worth those few extra people for the event itself or possibly skipping that day to upper your ride count instead.
Which Rides Are Least Important & Most?
It’s always worth checking which rides you are not all that worried about riding to the must-dos. That way you have a fairer idea as to where to begin your day.
How Many Low Capacity Rides Are At The Park?
I find it’s valuable to have an insight ahead of your trip of those rides which are insufficient on the capacity front than the others. That way you can prioritise these rides first to assure you get to ride them before the queues become too substantial.
Are Fast Tracks An Option?
Is there a unique set of rides or an individual ride that you have to ride before you leave that could warrant a fast track bundle or solo one? It’s a fairly fundamental question to ask yourself and book in advance if apparent. But also it’s worth checking before attending as to whether fast tracks are even a thing to enable you to give yourself additional time to get on those rides that may require fast passes in the first place.
Where Is There To Eat? Shall I Take My Own Food?
As a fussy eater like myself, it’s often significant I review wherein the park there is to eat. If there is nowhere it’s worth taking our food which is gradually evolving into a normal thing for us.
Any Prohibited Items?
It is so vital to check ahead of your trip to ensure you do not take any items that may need to be binned upon arrival. Some parks do not authorize you to take a picnic through the gates such as Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Therefore you either have to waste time heading to your car or hotel, pay for a locker or waste your money on the items that now need to be binned & left behind. Research the items permitted inside before visiting.
Is There Any Shows Worth Catching?
Often theme parks offer a spectrum of shows throughout the year. Is there any that tickles your fancy? Then it’s worth knowing the timings to ensure you do not miss out.
Is It Worth The Distance In Fuel & Miles?
Is the park you are about to travel to worth the time, money and effort? If you are reluctant either take the decline and visit or leave until you are confident.
Finally, What Order Should I Do The Rides In?
I always find when visiting somewhere fresh it’s good to have a rough proposal of the order in which we will do the rides. It helps to keep the day moderately organised and also can profit the likelihoods of experiencing everything you perhaps want to do. By all means, I ain’t saying have a rigorous agenda just a reasonable plan for your first ride then if that’s closed what else within the area would you want to ride?

That’s just an insight into the questions which I find supports me plan my trip to a theme park to the best possibility. By all means, if you have any others feel free to add them to the comments!
Thank you for reading & I hope this is helpful for you!
