Today I thought I’d sit and share my thoughts on the newly named & themed area known as Adventure Cove! Therefore, without me rambling too much, I’ll crack on!
Audio:
The audio has been accomplished to a standard of brilliance. It is one of that feel-good kinds of soundtracks that you have to tap your foot along to or bop around! Drayton Manor has always been known to have such a positive go lucky audio anyway!
Atmosphere:
Upon entering the area you are immediately surpassed by this feeling of happiness. I’m not entirely sure how to interpret the emotion you get but it is one I wish I could bottle up forever. Everything is so radiant & favourable.
Entertainment:
Within the area, there is roaming actors that interact with the crowds and just enrich that cheerful energy that is already occurring. They are brilliant fun for the family to get involved with. We did also catch the iconic Rory the Lion passing by with his little beatbox of songs!
Incorporation Of Existing Rides:
If you aren’t familiar Adventure Cove has adapted the likes of Stormforce 10, Maelstrom, Air Race & Shockwave. They all feel as if they add a unique factor to one another to the area. Of course, Shockwaves station has been painted to correspond to the River Rapids theming but has almost become a centrepiece for the area too. When I entered the first thing that drew my attention was the newly painted station. It is charming to see these classic rides become a part of the area rather than being replaced with newer versions. I think it has been crucial to giving these rides a tad of love & a purpose for their existent within the area. I have found that Air Race now looks like it should be there than before. I always thought Air Race looked quite isolated when G Force was standing.
New Rides & Attractions:
The new area has also made way for a brand new addition in the form of a Wave Swinger. I think the theming of this ride is stunning. The entire surrounding of the ride is so gorgeously put together. Alongside Wave Swinger, we have also seen Tidal Towers open which is a play area for the children which is also themed too. Not to forget the newly re-themed & refurbished River Rapids, a full review of them will be online very soon. It is nice to see investment happen within the park and great to see empty spaces been used.
Other Changes:
The other changes to this new area include the newly re-named Restaurant, additional seating and a new section of Stormforce 10s shop. The restaurant is still chicken based but it has been altered to fit in with the area. The shop now includes the chance to purchase some unique memories in the form of old ride parts. I thought the pricing was very reasonable in comparison to other places.
Overall:
Adventure Cove is a small insight into what we could expect with future investments & developments from Drayton Manor than we are looking towards a very bright future. The area is so well put together & incorporated already existing attractions with such grace. It’s an area well-worth checking out just for the rapids alone if nothing else. The team behind this development have demonstrated how incredibly talented they are & I am so excited to see what is next!
