I think we can all admit to spending a reasonable few hours before a trip, discussing whether or not to dive into paying for fast tracks. The never-ending question we are all quite stumped by is “are they worth it?” As someone who has used this kind of system before I thought I’d sit and discuss my thoughts on the matter. I also hope this will become relatively useful to those in the same predicament that we’ve once been in ourselves.
What To Consider?
The Theme Park Itself:
It’s vital to remember when booking your days out that not every UK theme park delivers this system. If your booking to rely on fast tracks perhaps it’s best to thoroughly do your research prior & pick a weekday during term time to help guarantee you get on all the rides you desire counting factors such as unforeseen breakdowns that may happen.
Prices & Tiers:
Fast Tracks often aren’t cheap especially if you’re paying for numerous people (for example your family, there is rarely a child’s price available). I would recommend looking through the price ranges and scoping out which is the most inexpensive for you. The majority of fast tracks offer a range of tiers that also differ in price. Read about each before committing to a select conclusion. Some of the tiers may decrease queue times by 90% or be the same as the normal queue but virtual. Whereas other tiers may mean you can only have one ride on each ride or unlimited. It’s worth spending time reading over each of them in detail to ensure you know what you are paying for.
Will I Visit Again This Year?
I always think if you know you will visit more than once in the same year there is little to no point in fast tracks. Simply do the missed rides on your next trip. If you are not visiting again and going during a peak day then fast tracks are worth looking into to help ensure you don’t miss your must-do rides.
Which Rides Are A Must?
Put a list together of the rides that are most significant to you to experience to the ones you aren’t so worried about. If those rides are new and your visiting during the busier periods then you’ll automatically expect prolonged queues therefore fast tracks can be the key to the best day out. Making a list of significance can also help specify what tier of fast track you need and if it’s worth getting single shots instead.
Time of Year & Opening Hours:
Looking at the opening times can often help indicate those busier days. If the opening hours are longer than others you know the crowd levels will be more intense. But longer opening hours also imply more opportunities to get on those rides.
Finally, Are Fast Tracks Worth It?
In my opinion, it all comes down to crowd levels on the day. If you’re experiencing max queues of 30 minutes then I don’t personally don’t see the point in fast tracks. But it’s busier than that then fast tracks are a tremendous help in making the day fairly pleasing and bearable. So, yes fast tracks are worth it as they allow you to take your day at your own pace and not rush around and also allows you to walk on to the rides you are hoping to experience.
There you have it my thoughts on whether or not fast tracks are worth purchasing. I hope this has helped you guys in some way or another. I’d also love to hear your thoughts too.
Thank you for reading!
