Blackpool Pleasure Beach Dark Rides Ranked

Something I’m missing the most about amusement/theme parks currently are dark rides. Therefore I’ve decided to have a chat about my favourite to least favourite dark rides at Pleasure Beach. Of course this is just my opinions and as always I’d love to hear yours!

Wallace & Gromit Thrill’O’Matic:

I absolutely adore this ride. Every aspect of it too. Admittedly there’s a few dark patches which could of been filled with something small at least. But aside from that the theming is beautifully done. As someone who loves Wallace & Gromit anyway it fills my heart with joy. It’s easily one of the best dark rides in the UK.

Valhalla:

I know it’s getting re-imagined but that aside, Valhalla is outstanding especially when everything works. I’ve always had this soft spot for this ride and knowing it’ll be better for the nearby future makes me so happy. I have a lot of hope that whatever is about to happen to Valhalla will make it even better then it was to begin with. I love the theming to the ride with the Viking’s and I love how large the scale is. Only thing I dislike is how wet you get especially given the fact Blackpool & the UK overall doesn’t always have the best of weathers. It makes the time frame of enjoyable rides very small due to getting so soaked.

Ghost Train:

Since the changes for the 2020 season this ride has become higher in this list. I love how cared for it is. It’s 90 years old but still receiving positive changes and been looked after so much. The new scene/room is beautiful in my opinion. As are the changes elsewhere across the ride. It’s a classic and gem which I love dearly. Plus it still gives me the creeps to this day after so many rides later, it’s an eerie ride naturally through age let alone the theming.

River Caves:

I personally have always loved River Caves it’s a lovely ride to catch a break on. All this ride needs is some TLC. Not even a complete re-theme just some love across all rooms to provide a more modern touch. But either way considering it’s age it looks beautiful still even if some scenes are little creepy. I hope it’s next on Pleasure Beach’s list to give some work to. But I pray it doesn’t leave the park because I adore it so much.

Alice:

I’m personally not a fan of Alice. I feel it has so much more to offer then it does. It’s a fab ride for the family to enjoy, of course. But the entire ride feels outdated the theming throughout needs work doing to it for sure. I’d love to see it get re-themed eventually as it doesn’t feel like Pleasure Beach to me. But even so it’s a dark ride I’m thankful for the fact there’s another dark ride at the park.

So that’s how I rate the Blackpool Pleasure Beach dark rides. How do you rank them? Be sure to let us know!
