Yesterday was filled with different announcements about upcoming events in celebration of Alton Towers 40th anniversary. Without further ado let’s have a chat about what we know so far and our thoughts on them.
Of course this is something which happens every year minus special event days. The line up hasn’t changed all that much in comparison to last seasons. On offer is Wickerman, Oblivion, Enterprise and selective rides in CBeebies Land. The 30 minutes extra ride time is only available to annual passholders and hotel guest. Therefore it usually is fairly quiet within this time and is perfect chance to experience Wickerman and beat the hectic queues.
Of course, it’s what we had anticipated it to be which is opening day so 21st March. We are very excited to experience this brand new dark ride and share with you guys our full thoughts.
Over the May bank holiday there will be a birthday party within CBeebies Land with some of the much loved characters. Later in May during the half term you can join Ben & Granny from Gangsta Granny in a bunch of different activities, challenges and competitions. We think this is a fab way to enhance the family offering and bring in more crowds during the days the children are off school. Who knows some of these activities may even be fun for us adults.
Not a lot has been announced in regards as to what will be on offer during this event / time. However they are teasing some “jaw dropping news & thrilliant summer”. We are hoping something along the lines of later openings, behind the scenes tour offerings, Alton Towers live. But at the moment not all that much has been announced in regards to this. We will do an updated blog post once more is announced.
This is an event which we are pretty hyped about. It’s aimed for thrill seekers & families with themed entertainment, delicious food , cheerful atmosphere and a German twist. There’s several selected dates for this event during September and first weekend of October. We have heard during this event there will be a selected amount of rides open later which of course extended park hours. But again there’s still more to be announced in regards to this event. But for now we are definitely here for it and can’t wait to attend.
Of course it is too early for the full line up announcement but the dates have been confirmed. Starting on the 9th October – 1st November on selective dates. We have read somewhere that new for 2020 the gardens will be used in some sort of way for this event. If that is true we are extremely excited to see how this will work. As always we can’t wait for the Halloween offering and can’t help but hold onto hope for scare zones to be re-introduced. Another thing we hope returns for the 2020 season is of course The Attic. The most beautiful maze we’ve experienced. But enough of that, once there’s more to discuss we will share another blog post.
Another 3 day long event this season which is fab to know. This is a yearly event which always seems to get bigger and better. Same as Scarefest it’s too early for much to be announced. But it’s the perfect opportunity to get your final rides on your favourites before the season ends.
