Oka, something nobody really talks about is the lack of investments in regards to coasters at CWOA. Admittedly they regularly invest elsewhere on the park which is fab but are they in need of a new coaster? That’s the topic I’ll be discussing in today’s blog & by all means these are only my opinions. I’d love to know your thoughts too.
The sheer amount of investment we see on a regular basis at Chessington really does keep the park fresh. The constant improvements of older rides & new investments which has recently come to light in regards to the next year. A coaster isn’t necessarily important. It could well benefit the parks overall throughputs & annual attendance for sure. But the amount of “new” we’ve seen in the last few years is definitely more than most parks. However let’s go onto why it is important…
There’s only 4 coasters across the park which doesn’t really feel enough in comparison to other theme parks. Admittedly they fulfil our days out beautifully. But it would be incredible to see a brand new coaster open somewhere on the lawns nearby Dragons Fury. I’m unsure as to what restriction chessington face when it comes down to planning permissions & been granted. A nice family launch coaster would suit the park beautifully or even a wooden coaster similar to Wickerman but smaller in size. You could easily theme a woodie up to the Pirate area or the bike coaster up to the Land of The Dragons. Their last coaster investment was of course Dragons Fury which is a firm favourite amongst many. The layout and theme is definitely beautiful & if they continued along them lines a new coaster would fit tremendously.
I wouldn’t say CWOA necessarily NEED a new coaster but it definitely would be beneficial to the current throughputs making it one more ride to spread out the queues especially on peak days. It also would be fab to see something a little more modern added to the line up & add that extra spark into the park. But all in all I wouldn’t say they have to rush a coaster out given the constant keeping everything fresh elsewhere. My prediction is after Tomb Blaster receives the TLC treatment & all planned new rides open well potentially see work begin on a brand new coaster!
