Trip Report | Drayton Manor September 2019

This trip was very last minute and wasn’t planned ahead. However we luckily live only 40 minutes away and own season passes, therefore it’s a simple get up & go. Here’s our brief trip report & chat about our day, we hope you all enjoy.

Parking / Entrance / Disabled Access:

Parking was simple as ever and it’s always fairly fast to park too. Upon collecting one of the £18 vouchers the queues were nice and fast and getting into the park was super simple. Ants mum is entitled to disability pass and it’s one of our first times using their versions of the ride access pass. The staff within guest services were fab and couldn’t be any more helpful.

Zoo:

The Zoo actually opens an hour prior to the rides which is really handy to ensure you cover it all. As always the animals look incredibly happy & healthy. There’s constant changes & improvements been made to ensure the best enrichment for their animals. We even witnessed the “zoo keeper for the day” which looked incredible the couple was in the Red Panda enclosure.

Grill Inn:

We had lunch at the onsite restaurant Grill Inn and used our double discount vouchers from our season passes. With the double discount it made it really affordable but the quality alone is worth every penny. As always the staff are incredible and couldn’t do anymore for you especially if you have food allergies.

Rides / Throughputs:

Unfortunately Shockwave was closed all day but it definitely didn’t impact our day. Admittedly we didn’t manage many rides yet the overall park atmosphere definitely made our day. Throughputs aren’t on the same level as the likes of Alton Towers yet we found them better than Paultons Park. It seemed there’s many improvements across the park as always and it keeps it constantly fresh.

I’ll be putting together a full review blog from The Haunting since it’s changes. But briefly if you haven’t checked it out this season you really have to. They have done an incredible job at embracing all aspects of it.

Overall:

It’s a beautiful day out and perfect for families. Today certainly was busier than we had anticipated but the general atmosphere is everything. Our next visit is more than likely will be during their Fireworks event.
