It has become very prominent during October that we are about to witness a significant alteration of Thorpe Park in the coming season. The park has so much evolution happening for them in the new year that it’s hard to know where to begin. So, let’s have a little chat about what’s to come in 2024 and how Thorpe Park is about to venture on a fresh start.
Logo Change:
We have all known Thorpe Park by their iconic infinity logo for several years. In fact, it’s all I’ve ever known them for. Whenever I saw this logo in everyday life Thorpe Park often sprung to mind. However, during Fright Nights it was teased that this valued logo for the park is about to come to an end. As we all sit and wait in anticipation to see what’s about to be uncovered it’s hard to not feel that 2024 is a press on the restart button for the park. A logo transformation is a big deal and hopefully, one which echoes brightly on their future but also be well perceived by guests and enthusiasts. I feel the current branding of Thorpe Park that we all know & love is really about to veer to a new era for the park that so far looks incredibly luminous in comparison to the lack of investment seen prior. So, we await the logo and I’m very eager and captivated to see what the logo says… will we acquire a new tagline too? Only time will tell.
Farewell Angry Birds Land:
Thorpe Park is set to bid farewell to Angry Birds Land an area which has been around for 10 whole years at the park providing guests with their favourite little birds, beautifully themed buildings and a pop of colour amongst the park. This area for me always looked fabulous but often did feel a tad astray from the surrounding areas. In later years it had begun to look quite fatigued so it’s refreshing to hear change is coming. It’s been confirmed by the park there’ll be no new rides added for the opening of the area, the 4D cinema remains with a new film and the other remaining rides are to see a rehaul to mirror the fresh theming. The park has also made it very known this new theme will be in-house and going by track record it could be epic (looking at Swarm Island & Amity Cove). In the long term, I’d love to see the 4D cinema site be reworked into a brand new dark ride as that’s something which Thorpe Park doesn’t have a lot of. But that’s very much in the future speculation for me and I know it may not be possible. Either way, a brand new area is an optimistic step in the right direction for the park and this fresher takes on the island’s appearance.
Hello Hyperia:
2024 is set to be a truly BIG season for the park. With the skyline already changed and the coaster line-up extending to new heights the strong-standing Hyperia going to open to guests. It truly isn’t the year to miss a visit to Thorpe Park. The UK is about to have the height beaten for the first time in 30 years with Hyperia. This is truly one of those moments we all need to take in as it’s altering history. After 10+ years since Thorpe Park’s last rollercoaster opened, they did not hold back with the comeback and definitely have gone all out too.
The Future:
Recent years have seen Thorpe Park re-include family-friendly events which has been wholesome to see. The park tends to keep on thriving year after year with its offerings on that front. But 2024 is the year to be at Thorpe Park with so many things to see and enjoy to what we know of so far (there’s still time for more to be announced) I think the future of the park is looking brighter than ever before. I can’t help but feel we may see some family additions added back into the line-up long term, the continuous investment for the season ahead gives me hope. The fact we’re about to watch Thorpe Park open the UK’s fresh iconic height-beating rollercoaster just feels incredibly astonishing to me. Not to ignore the park has just lost the IP to Angry Birds yet is taking their own spin to bring to life a brand new themed area which is fantastic to see and something we fans love to see the park do. It truly feels like a start of a brand new era of Thorpe Park will begin in 2024 & which makes me so fascinated & enthusiastic to see what else could be up their sleeves. I can’t help but feel this is JUST the beginning of what we can anticipate from the park in the coming 10 years.
