2023 was the year we finally managed to experience all of the rollercoasters there is on offer at Disneyland Paris. It has taken us long enough almost 4 years between the dreaded planned maintenance to exceptionally long queues but it has happened! Here are our thoughts on which is the best & the worst. For the record, we’re starting at the bottom and then working our way to our favourite.
RC Racer:
Ah yes, the single most disappointing experience of my life✨ Okay, that was perhaps a little OTT. However, I am very sorry to those who cherish this ride or find it terrifying but I can’t quite get behind the hype for it. For me, it’s lacklustre. It looks like it has the potential to be a thrilling coaster off-ride just a shame it doesn’t deliver that experience onboard.
Indiana Jones:
Okay, it wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated in all honesty. In fact, it was a lot smoother than expected still a turbulent old machine though. I feel the problem that I find is the fact you have to take your bags on board even though it has a loop. There’s something very unnerving about this and the fact you have to hold them as well makes it even more uneasy. I feel this is an issue that does need to be sorted really.
Casey JR:
An absolutely precious classic. Those carriages are spectacular. I truly do adore this rollercoaster with all my heart. The onboard audio is catchy as well. It’s just the perfect fun experience for everyone. Like do you walk away singing the song or is that just me? Or do you feel in awe whenever you see the trains? Maybe that’s just a me thing, do share if it is?
Flight Force – Avengers Assemble:
I do thoroughly relish this rollercoaster. It feels moderately out of place given it’s quite exhilarating but at the most magical place, there is. As I’ve spoken of before batching is an issue. There’s a profound lack of theming once you’re at the body of the ride experience. But as a rollercoaster itself, I do really enjoy it.
Crush’s Coaster:
After many years of wanting to experience this, it finally happened and it’s safe to say I truly am in love with the thing. What an experience. As someone who’s always loved Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, this was fab. It feels more of a dark ride in some areas with some really well-themed scenes to enjoy and it is effortlessly one of the best spinning coasters we’ve ever done. It’s just a tremendous overall package. Just a shame the queues are always dreadful for it.
Hyperspace Mountain:
I do long for the day this returns to its original theme if that day will ever come. But nonetheless, I love this classic. Thrilling yet fun. Again the baggage situation is a pain but I love the sensation of launching into blackness with the epic soundtrack of Star Wars blaring down my ears. It’s just magnificent and a really good sensation.
Big Thunder Mountain:
My first ever rollercoaster and here I am today still rating it so highly. I love this rollercoaster more than anyone will ever comprehend. It’s fun, feels fast and is in the most gorgeous location. Whether you’re riding day or night the experience is just sensational. The indoor sections where there are theming and special effects just look incredible. It feels as if towards the end of the ride it just goes wamp which I also adore. It’s long & perfect fun for all to enjoy again. It is the best✨
