Happy new year my fellow geeks! With us now been in January it means the theme park season is just two months away. So, it’s time we look ahead as to what is anticipated to open in the season to come. I will continuously keep this blog up to date as & when news arises. So, what new things can we experience in 2023 here in the UK!
World of Jumanji – Chessington World of Adventures:
The biggest opening in 2023 is the brand new area at Chessington World of Adventures which we know as the World of Jumanji. This area features two supporting flat rides to the brand-new rollercoaster. This rollercoaster is a winged shuttle coaster & is the only one in the park to feature an inversion. It’s manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. Who else is incredibly excited to explore this area?
The Curse at Alton Manor – Alton Towers:
So, last September we saw Duel close its doors ahead of a revamp. It has now turned out to be that this is becoming The Curse at Alton Manor. From what they have teased us with so far it appears to be themed around a doll’s house. It looks very spooky a lot spookier than Duel was.
Ghost Train – Thorpe Park:
Thorpe Park have confirmed the IP for Derren Browns Ghost Train has left this attraction alongside the VR feature. Meaning this new version will feature live actors alongside multi-sensory effects to provide a terrifying ride. 
Valhalla? – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
Yes, it’s been near on 4 years since the closure. It keeps making its annual appearance in these blog posts but I’m somewhat confident we could see the doors reopen on this dark ride. It’s a long time coming. But I’m sure 2023 will be the season we can all embrace it again.
Skegness Fairground Revamp:
It appears that the fairground has taken on a new appearance & has an additional 4 rides set to open in the coming Easter. I feel this is rather low-key but brilliant news to hear.
Megafobia Re-Track – Oakwood:
It has been announced that Megafobia is undergoing a re-track by the Gravity Group. This re-track is set to see 40% off the track replaced. This is a brilliant sign on the rides future and it’s get to see it getting some love which is deserves.
