My Top 4 Favourite Ride Themes

Theming truly does make a ride spectacular. Having a strong theme to compliment a ride can make the most okay of rides feel like something special. Here are 4 of my favourite themes that are affixed to rides.

Thirteen – Alton Towers:

The genuine location complimenting this story that’s been constructed with the audio lurking as you walk towards this what appears to be an abandoned building that’s coated in vines. Into the twilight off of the station with that unnerving buzzing from the tesla coil which could go off at any given moment. It’s just something else. The surprise segment inside is faultlessly concealed from those who aren’t familiar. It truly is one of the best themed rides at Alton Towers in my opinion. The apprehension, atmosphere & all-around creepiness accomplished is just flawless.

Wallace & Gromit – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:

A truly iconic British TV programme but in real life what’s not to love? It is outstanding. Seeing these familiar and homely scenes from their various episodes in real life and looking as good as they do is amazing & heartwarming more to the point. There’s no feeling quite like hearing that familiar audio from the theme tune and just passing by these scenes that put a smile on our faces. Blackpool Pleasure Beach produced a timeless classic within this ride and gave us all somewhere to feel at home. This will always be a comforting ride for many of us and I know there are so many that find so much happiness in riding this too.

Pirates of the Caribbean – Disneyland Paris:

“Yo-ho-yo-ho a pirate’s life for me.” I feel no connection quite like this one. I even wrote a whole love letter to this ride. I’m not joking when I say this ride hits me in the feels every single time I think about it. This ride leaves me feeling so mesmerised with all the insanely talented sets, uncanny human-like animatronics & joyous soundtrack. It feels like home to me. If we ever loose this ride it’ll be the day I truly sob for hours. As for rides, this truly is the love of my life.

The Swarm – Thorpe Park:

It truly does feel like the end of the world when coming into this area. It is chaotic in the right way. There’s an overturned ambulance, exploding fire engine, an eerie ringing telephone phone and a whole crashed plane. With an alien-looking ride carriage that glides around this chaos taking riders on a rather intense experience. If you’ve seen this in the dark you’ll understand why it’s one of the best-themed rides in the UK. It is as if you enter new dimensions at night. The sounds & sights do create an extraordinary place to be.
