Isn’t December the best time of year to visit Warwick Castle? A massive thank you to Warwick Castle for inviting us to check out their Christmas offering & to Merlin for having me take over their Instagram!
Decor:
Warwick Castle always kit out to suit the event! Christmas is no exception by any means. It’s incredibly festive.
Ice Skating:
I’m a chicken and don’t particularly enjoy Ice Skating as I’m too scared of breaking a bone (pathetic I know) but I gave it a shot! Admittedly didn’t last very long. However, if you are someone who enjoys ice skating then this is a tremendous lot of fun! Passholders do also get their discount on this too.
Light Trail:
It’s just so magical! It had a slight extension onto the version last year which was lovely to see. I always find this the trail is such a cute little walkthrough. There’s plenty to see and lots of photo opportunities!
This year saw a tribute to our late Queen which was lovely. It was a good minute segment of the Queen speaking with a sign saying “thank you ma’am” and the queen’s head. Whilst you explore festive songs are being played which just adds to the atmosphere. You are free to take it at your own speed as well there’s no time limit. Also, don’t forget passholders also receive discount on this experience too.
Food & Drink:
Same as last year there are plenty of food & drink options available in their little market stalls. These are just in front of the castle and in the middle of both the Ice Skating & Light Trail. Unlike last year there were no shopping stalls amongst the mix but the offering & variety of other stalls are amazing.
Overall:
I love visiting Warwick Castle during the cold months. I always find it’s the best time of year to visit. The Christmas event is immaculate fun for all the family with so much to explore & see. There’s something warming about being cold, wrapped up and getting into the festive spirit!
