Setting the record straight immediately by expressing the fact I hate the word “Ick” but let’s try & be part of the cool kids for one blog. So, I thought I’d sit and share a few of those some of which won’t be directly from a theme park but will be associated.
Please don’t take any of these things to heart. They are just little things that make me cringe and it’s a light-hearted blog post for us all to enjoy!
“Rollercoaster” Song Lyrics:
I just can’t with this one. There’s nothing worst than when you are with someone and the word “rollercoaster” gets sung off in a song & they give you THAT stare. Please, don’t. I forbid to sing those lyrics in a song it makes me feel repulsed.
Over Exaggerated Stories:
“One time I was riding x, y & z and it had 20 inversions, at 300mph and reached heights of 500ft”. Okay, hun. Anything over-dramatised leaves me rolling my eyes and cringing.
Commentating A Layout Of A Ride:
If you are that person who continually yells Helix whilst going through a Helix, you ain’t for me. It’s like nobody needs to know the whole layout of this coaster whilst riding thank you. The acceptance of this kind of behaviour is a documentary-related situation. If you’re having a leisurely ride on a rollercoaster then what are you achieving? It’s just irritating.
Confidently Sharing Untrue Facts Whilst Queueing / Trying To Impress:
Ever stood in a queue and overheard some people behind or in front of you sharing an untrue story that’s not even rational? Yeah, it happens a lot and I’m sure many enthusiasts can vouch for that. I’m sure someone once mentioned they rode Stealth at Alton Towers and it went upside down multiple times. Some of the things you hear are absurd but goodness me it’s vile to listen to.
Over The Top Screaming:
I’m here for screaming when you get scared. But if you’ve JUST got to the lift hill of the coaster, why are you screeching like are you heading down the drop? It’s the worst when you can hear that person who’s purposely screaming to show off. Nightmare. Oh, if you are that person to then refer to them as “screamers” whilst giggling.. also a massive ick.

There are some of the icky things I have found whilst visiting theme parks. What are yours? Please, don’t be too offended by this either!
