I’m weak for writing about rollercoasters especially ranking them in order of least favourite to the ultimate one. By now you are all probably bored of it, right? Well, I’m sorry but I’m back with another! If I miss any let me know.
Queen Bee – Skegness Pleasure Beach:
I’m here to shit on Queen Bee because it is I C O N I C & my first ever inverted rollercoaster. It’s damn well adorable with its little bee-themed carriages and honeycomb you pass through. It’s nothing but cute.
Infusion – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
It’s not a terrible rollercoaster by any means I quite like it. For sure I can understand why it gets the stick it does as it can ride quite rough. Nobody acknowledges just how intense the damn thing is though. The height is also something which terrifies me. It’s not sat in this position because it’s awful because it isn’t it’s only sat here because the rest just set the bar a little higher.
Vampire – Chessington World of Adventures:
As much as I adore Vampire & the surrounding theming it has definitely gotten a little rough in its old age. It’s still without a doubt so much fun though!
Nemesis Inferno – Thorpe Park:
Again I love Inferno. I do wish it didn’t have the Nemesis in the title as it just makes it virtually impossible to not compare. For me, Inferno is a tad too short. It has such an amazing layout & style yet it just finished too quickly. If it had a few seconds more it could easily rival Nemesis at Alton Towers. My favourite feature has to be the pre-lift section, so simple but so much fun.
Flight of the Pterosaur – Paultons Park:
One of the most beautifully smooth rollercoasters I have ever ridden. It’s just a tad too short for my liking & the throughputs aren’t great. But it’s a little more intense than you would imagine in all honesty!
Odyssey – Fantasy Island:
Height, height & more height… terrifying. The slow pace this takes up the lift is a bit of a joke. The drop is also gut wrenching. But as a rollercoaster it is fabulous. The way it races around the track which sits over the top of a market is brilliant. I don’t necessarily find it rough all that much at all.
Nemesis – Alton Towers
A true icon. Nemesis what a rollercoaster. There’s an entire backstory to brush up on which then explains the station. It once had a sister ride to present this backstory. Nemesis feels almost like a storybook in itself. There’s just so much to it that for guests to learn & there is exactly all that much theming around to even give it away either. Considering it’s age it rides like a beauty. I know we’re facing a refurbishment soon but it really does still ride quite well. Seat depending can offer a rougher ride though. Race down that helix into the zero-g roll first thing in the morning & last thing of the day & I promise you, you’ll fall in love.
Kumali – Flamingo Land:
This was something which I didn’t anticipate. But Kumali is an actual dream. It’s smooth, intense, fun & has a real fair duration. My only downfall for this coaster is the one train service. But everything about it just felt amazing. I never expected an SLC to be quite THAT smooth & enjoyable. I love Inverts but this just has to be the best we have in the UK when putting factors such as a backstory & theming aside. It’s also gorgeous on the eye too.
