Right, as a geek you tend to catch sight of the smallest of things when smooching around theme parks. Therefore, on my solo trip the other day I happened to notice some rather dubious markings! By all means, I’m only speculating and ain’t declaring these are in any means related but I’m enthusiastic to hope they are though! Oh, let’s crack on with some assumptions & suggestions as to what could be in the pipeline, please take it all with a pinch of salt because I know nothing!
Suspicious Red Markings…
One of the first signs of something happening whether that is a rollercoaster or something as simple as some additional lighting is markings. I happened to notice a fair few on the ground below Rita’s track within the Thirteen fast track/RAP queue & ride exit. There were little arrows and general markings on the floor and up some fences too. I managed to grab a photo of one of the fences (photo below) as I didn’t want to hold up anyone else behind me. The markings to me appeared moderately similar to what we had seen happen during the premature stages of Icon’s construction.
What I Think What Could Mean?
From these many trivial markings, I can’t help but question if we will be seen the next SW9 within Dark Forest. I guess it essentially makes sense given it has always been noticeable that Rita could be the first prominent rollercoaster to depart the current line-up. To me, I love her a lot but she doesn’t quite fit the area and always appears a little bit like a sore thumb amongst an okay themed area. It sits high on the ground and almost looks temporary which we know it isn’t but does that make sense, does anyone else understand what I mean? So, my theory is that we could be seen the loss of Rita in the looming years with some alterations to the Thirteen queue line to enable the construction to progress. The next SW could well sit within Rita’s spot of the park and perhaps even broaden outside the established footings too. I feel as if, IF those markings are connected then possibly they are lining up the positioning of a new rollercoaster ahead of official plans getting submitted etc. I could be wrong by all means…
What Could The New Rollercoaster Be?
I’m not someone who keeps up with new rollercoaster types if I’m completely honest. But I do get drawn towards something along the lines of Taron. An almost like for like replacement in regards to the rollercoaster type. So, a loss of a launch with a substitute but a more modern, potentially faster and better-themed launch coaster. I reckon someone like Intamin would be the first port of call.
Ants Theory:
Ant’s theory is steering away from Dark Forest entirely and heading over to Forbidden Valley. Nemesis is due to close sometime soon for its retrack. Meaning B&M will be onsite and it is presumed that CWOA is also getting a B&M coaster. Therefore, could we be seen a deal? Ant reckons that Nemesis getting the re-tracked like already approved could also mean getting a brand new B&M coaster as well. Over on the site of the car park nearby Galactica an expansion of Forbidden Valley for 2025/2026 at the latest?
My General Thoughts:
Honestly, I feel we’re at the stages where we could well be seen the first signs of the next SW. However, with the coming re-track of Nemesis, I could well be wrong? Of course, nobody will know except the team involved if any plans are happening behind the scenes. But I thought I’d give some more assumptions I have in mind & we shall see whether I’m anywhere near close to them once the time comes!
What do you reckon those little red markings mean? Do you reckon we will see construction for SW9 happen anytime soon? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments and across our socials!
