Magma VS Croc Drop – Which Do I Prefer?

Two of the same ride type from the identical manufacturer I think it’s just a typical enthusiast thing to incorporate the two and share which I prefer right? Well, this season has seen the likes of Croc Drop make their appearance in a rather fashionable posture, to say the least. So, let’s have a chin wag about which do I prefer and what I adore & dislike about them both.

Magma – Paultons Park:

Let’s begin with acknowledging the OG of the two. This was one of the first drop towers I rode and genuinely appreciated. Usually, I ain’t one for this configuration of a ride as it just knocks me sick with nothing but dread & anxiety. Yet I found Magma the ideal recipe of fun & fear. It was certainly somewhat more fierce than I had predicted but strictly speaking, it is fab. There’s not a sharp amount of theming but I never exactly anticipated there to be anyway. I adore that initial gut-wrenching impact the first drop has for it to then conform into butterflies from each bounce. It was an eye-opener drop tower for me to allow the likelihood to open my soul to more of them than I had comprehended I would do.

Croc Drop – Chessington World of Adventures:

Following the accomplishment I had with Magma I expected a virtually indistinguishable experience with Croc Drop. Yet I was mistaken. The theming is the fundamental characteristic I admire for this ride & is the only probable reason as to why I prefer it. For me, I found Croc Drop required a lot of feeling & intensity in comparison to Magma. But this also shifts depending on the establishing the ride is operating on. I’ve since had more intense durations but also exceptionally suppress too. I love the views that are on offer from the tallest point of the ride as it is delightful to see.

Which Do I Prefer?

They both offer something unique to one another. One offers additional intensity and the other offers beautiful theming. For me, I would take theming of on-ride experience any day of the week especially Croc Drops as it compresses physical pieces, audio and a full experience inside the station as well. I do wish we could incorporate the two perks of them both into one but I guess you can’t have it all. So, I prefer Croc Drop purely due to the sensational theming & story telling it offers.
