I have a lot of love for a lot of UK theme parks. Of course, you’re bound to have heard of these parks. But I feel as if they don’t receive as much love as they deserve. As always this is just my opinions and by all means not facts. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic too.
Drayton Manor:
This is my local so perhaps I’m a tad bias with this. But I think Drayton Manor has a handful of the best rides in the UK. The likes of The Haunting, Apocalypse & Maelstrom are all some of the best UK attractions. The park is so pretty as well and has a lovely zoo. Their firework event is one of our favourites. It always surprises us how fab it actually is. Another thing Drayton Manor do really well is food outlets. Every food outlet on offer incredible food for a reasonable price. Not to forget how well they look after season pass holders with the amount they give you in return for one price.
Pleasurewood Hills:
This park has so much future potential. It’s already a fab day out. But I do believe the future is really bright for them. Going by last years investments with Egg-Spress they can do theme pretty well. The way they transformed the area is beautiful. It has one of the loveliest chilled out vibes. Of course, they have some incredible rides on offer too. I personally love the Cannonball Express. It’s one of my favourite rollercoasters that side of the country. Of course, Wipeout too if you sit on the back row I’ve never known such an intense ride. Pleasurewood Hills is a lovely place to visit and there’s a decent amount to do as well.
Paultons Park:
I feel this park could well become one of the big boys in a few years time. Prior to visiting I didn’t expect much or even expect to enjoy the park the way I did. I feel because it’s a family-based theme park perhaps a lot of older children & adults are put off. But we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The park has to be one of the most beautiful in the UK. The way they do their gardening and planting is gorgeous. As for the ride offerings, they have some fab rides on offer. A few of our favourites is Magma, Cobra & Flight of the Pterosaur.
Joyland – GT Yarmouth:

Iknow this may not be everyone’s taste in amusement parks. But it has one of the only Virginia wheels left. Not to forget the spooky express which is adorable. The pricing for tokens are £1 for 1. A lot of the rides are only around 2-3 tokens anyway. Admittedly it’s not the largest or fanciest of amusement parks. But there are some unique rides which you can’t come by elsewhere in the UK. Plus I must admit it’s a real cute looking park.
Dreamland Margate:
We visited for the first & only time during their Halloween event last year. It’s a park which shocked us the most by how beautiful it is. There’s a lovely traditional vibe but with touches of modernness as well. Scenic Railway was a bucket list rollercoaster for us for a long time and it definitely lived up to it. The park themselves have many varied events during the year as well & if not the best, one of the best Halloween events we’ve attended. The park is very underrated and should be raved about more often!
There are 5 theme/amusement parks I love a lot & would recommend anyone else checking out. What other UK parks do you think is underrated?
