I know it’s May and the chances of us having Halloween this year is next to nothing really unless there’s huge changes beforehand. But I thought I’d take a look back at last Halloween and discuss 5 mazes which I loved dearly. I’d love to know what scare mazes you loved of last season!
Hammer House of Horror – Screamland:
It was the brand new maze of 2019 for Screamland and genuinely it was fab. There was so many well thought out scares from the places you’d least expect them to be. The set pieces were gorgeous and the smells throughout were VILE but it all added up to a fab experience. It was a maze which shocked us by how decent it was!
The Attic – Alton Towers:
It was just beautiful start to finish. The location is so fitting and definitely adds to the eerie feel. Again the cast throughout during the 2/3 run throughs we had were fab. There wasn’t a thing about this maze which we’d love to change. It was so fab and honestly scared the crap out of us!
The Village – Twinlakes Xtreme Scream Park:
Again another maze which from start to finish was so well themed and put together. The actors inside were insane. The length alone was a lot to handle given your constantly on edge. Mixture between animatronics and live actors was mad. Then the finale that was something else. Going through a church is one thing but then the mixture of dummies & live actors. Simply the best finale we had done!
Blair Witch – Thorpe Park Fright Nights:
I feel the fact we had extremely low expectations for this maze simply made it even better once we discovered how fab it was. Again the setting of the maze was perfect and I think the team at Thorpe Park done an incredible job at it too. I find the concept of getting lost in the “woods” was terrifying alone!
Wasteland Penitentiary – Tulleys Shocktober Fest:
The live show within the plaza was what drawn us into the area. We didn’t know there was actually a maze also. We basically stumbled into the queue line and didn’t have a clue what was going to happen. It was the most intense strobe maze I’ve ever encountered in my life. I’ve never wanted to run for my life like I did in that section of the maze. It was so dark throughout and the actors were wild! Easily one of the best mazes of 2019 and I can’t wait to get back inside once all this blows over whether it’s this year or next!
What were your top 5 scare mazes of 2019? I’d love to hear yours!
Thank you for reading & sorry if it’s too early for Halloween based blogs haha!
