We all know those people who almost frown upon this hobby or simply don’t understand it. Of course, that’s okay but is anyone else sick of the same things been said or asked? If you haven’t checked out our “dear, non-enthusiast” blog post I’ll pop a link HERE. There’s no particular order to this list nor is it calling anyone out just some simple things we are all probably bored of!
Aren’t You Bored Yet?
I’ve lost count of those who’ve said this to us now. The simple answer is nope we’re not. If we do get bored then we simply won’t visit anymore. Therefore this question is irrelevant if we continue to visit these parks.
(Not spoken in years but sees your hobby) Got any discounts available for so & so park?
What makes people think that just because you regularly visit places you’ll automatically be inundated with discounts? Sorry but nope.
Aren’t You Too Old For Theme Parks?
Is there an age limit on theme parks? I certainly don’t think so.
Theme Parks Are Death Traps/Unsafe
It’s more dangerous driving to the theme park then the actual rides. As an enthusiast, you tend to be more aware of the fact theme parks are actually very safe places to be.
You’ll Turn Into A Rollercoaster Soon..
Yup, I’ve gained 1,000 ft of steel track & gonna have a carriage race around loops! Did Do you not know?
It’s Unhealthy:
This is a fairly common occurrence I’ve had. Sometimes a few have blamed my health conditions on theme parks, yet the truth of the matter is I had them prior to this hobby. Plus if it weren’t for theme parks I wouldn’t exercise half as much as I do during those trips, lockdown is a prime example of that.
Isn’t it A Waste Of Money / You Must Be Rich:
Genuinely the trips we do cost next to nothing except annual pass fees. If we stay in hotels we never pay more than £70 a night commonly unless we want a treat in a more luxurious hotel. Neither of us are rich, again it’s simple savings like annual passes and saving.
You Are A GEEK // Know Everything:
Yes, we are geeks and we’re quite proud of that too. It’s not something we anymore feel ashamed of. We don’t actually know everything we just know the basics like ride manufacturers, ride types etc. We certainly don’t know EVERYTHING.
There’s an insight into a few things that wed recommend not saying to an enthusiast or are sick of hearing ourselves. If your someone who wanted to ask any of these questions, I hope I’ve given you your answers.
