I know it’s only been two years since the last secret weapon & it was FAB! But it’s hard to not look towards the future & speculate right?? Well that’s what I aim to do today and here’s an insight into what we think or at least hope happen in the future. We hope you enjoy & we’d love for you guys to join in!
I can’t settle for one idea so have a few!!
Water Rollercoaster:
I genuinely feel this would fit into the brand new area so well. Of course there may be plenty restrictions as to why it may not be possible but I’m not that technical! But could you imagine a brand new water coaster fulfilling the gap of The Flume? It would be pretty fab. I’m saying this but never experienced this coaster type. I’m not sure how unrealistic this actually is so no judgment please.
LSM Launch:
I do feel Rita is more or less coming towards the end of its life now. But a like for like replacement, more modern would be fab. Something along the lines of Icon but potentially without inversions and of course Intamin instead of Mack. A darker theme LSM launch racing around Dark Forest potentially interacting with Thirteen. That would be pretty fab tbh.
Indoor Rollercoaster:
Not very specific I know but any form of indoor rollercoaster would be fab. Perhaps it’s just us but we actually really do enjoy these type of coasters. The unexpected twist & turns through darkness is quite thrilling. It could well suit any area like Dark Forest or David Walliams World. Whether they head down the family or thrill market it could really work. It doesn’t even have to be “dark inside” it could well be jammed packed with theming. Either way an indoor rollercoaster would be lovely to see at Alton Towers. Of course we know they once had one on the site of The Smiler.

What if they took the idea/layout of the Cross Valley Wooden Coaster, added some launches during slow parts and made it a Steel Hyper by Intamin?
I quite like that idea!
