Our experiences across both days have been everything opposite to opening weekend. So we have decide to share another blog talking about our weekend. We hope you all enjoy & we’d love to know your thoughts if you’ve visited again since opening weekend.
Honestly this weekend we’ve seen Pleasure Beach at its best in every possible way with not one negative comment. I’m going to separate the blog into different sections as there’s so much good to talk about it’ll take a while.
Staff:
Over the weekend we’ve encountered nothing but lovely staff. Everybody we had spoken to, got served by & ride hosts were all so lovely. When trying to sort out our season passes as there’s a scanning issue, both members of staff couldn’t of done enough for us.
Weather Issues & Closed Rides:
Before any trip we always check the weather and then decide whether to expect the big one open or not. This weekend we didn’t expect it at all given the wind was pretty bad both days. Yet Saturday it came to around 1pm and we noticed they began testing it. That alone was amazing just the fact they actually tried. We approached the staff member outside The Big One and he had openly told us to come back in an hour as their just doing their pre checks. As expected the queue was pretty big and on 1 train which was completely understandable. Towards the end of the day literally 5 minutes before park close. We joined the queue line and the staff member informed us it’s a 30 minute wait but it could close at any moment as the winds at the top was almost tipping it over to closing again, but it’s down to us if we join. Of course we joined and managed to grab two back to back rides. There was only half a trains worth of people so they asked if anyone wanted to stay on to go to an empty row. It was two of the best rides we ever had on The Big One. However Sunday we knew it wouldn’t open as the wind was well over 50mph gusts so we were over the moon to have had those two rides the day before.
Operations:
It was some of the best operations we’ve saw across the park to be honest. There were a few breakdowns but within less than an hour majority got back up. The staff and mechanics were on it all weekend. The queues weren’t all that bad given some rides were one train across the park. Icon was running like a dream all weekend and didn’t have any issues other than opening late Sunday morning. Walking around the park you could see all the staff were working really hard to keep all rides open, get them back up after breakdowns. We couldn’t fault anything all weekend the staff were completely honest about the suspected ride closures etc.
Overall:
Both days were very quiet with Sunday been the quietest as usual and almost everything been walk on or with under 30 minute queue. The Big Dipper queue looked fairly big from outside but once we joined we were on within 15-20 minutes. We had the best time and really can’t wait to go back again soon. Everything about our weekend at Pleasure Beach was perfect.
