This has become a popular topic in more recent years especially when Alton Towers had removed the majority of their single rider queue lines. I’ve never discussed my views on this topic until now. I hope you guys enjoy & definitely be sure to share your thoughts with us too.
Should Every Ride Offer This Queue Line?
The answer is simply yes. There’s a fair amount of benefits which I can think of the top of my head. One of which is it’s easy to help keep carriages with fewer empty seats. Those who struggle to stand for longer periods of time but don’t necessarily need an helper can easily access this line. So a single rider queue provides a shorter wait time to the main queue and could well benefit those who struggle. There have been times I’ve wanted to go Towers alone when Ant has worked in Derby and I just couldn’t handle the queue lengths due to several conditions I suffer from. So I simply avoided doing so.
The Negatives From This System:
I can see more benefits than negatives especially if used correctly by guest. There’s bound to be some guest who would use this line in attempt to sit with a pal whilst beating the queues. That would of course slow the throughputs down as the staff will have to deal with them. But if everybody abided by the rules then simply this could work beautifully.
Overall:
I do think majority of theme parks should offer this system. It would help fill empty seats and keep throughputs to the maximum. There’s not many negatives which I can find personally.
