I thought today I’d strip it back and have a chat about our personal Top 5 UK dark rides. Of course these are just our opinions and as always we’d love to know yours too.
It’s such a beautiful ride with incredible theming throughout. The consistency in regards to working effects is always a win too. It’s a ride which we often feel lucky to have within the UK and it definitely gave Blackpool Pleasure Beach a lease of life & taste of more modern themed rides.
Valhalla is beautiful there’s no denying that but it definitely is in need of its upcoming re-imagination. The lack of reliable effects and the sheer amount of wetness sadly dampened the ride. But that aside when it worked well it was perfect and therefore it will always remain within our top 5 going by previous good runs. However, this may change once we get to ride it again in 2021.
It’s aimed for the younger audience but honestly, everyone can appreciate it. The soundtrack is something which always springs to mind whenever I think of this attraction. It’s so beautiful and one of those rides I could re-ride so much and never get bored. Legoland done a smashing job with this ride. It’s safe to say I am extremely excited to ride this attraction again in a few months time.
Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I think the ride has a ton of potential and has some of the best animatronics within the UK. I’m not saying that it’s entirely perfect there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement. Yet the animatronics especially the mummy is one of the best there is amongst the UK. It’s a lot of fun & one day I hope it receives the TLC desired to make it that bit closer to perfect.
The recent changes for the 2019 season improved this ride a lot. It’s current theming & atmosphere is everything it should of been to begin with. It’s definitely more eerie and aimed for an older audience now in my opinion. I think it visually looks glorious and everything it should have been from the get-go. If you haven’t already checked out the changes from last season definitely head to Drayton Manor & give it a go.
