Today is a double upload day with our full review from the Alton Towers Dungeons which will be linked here. But this blog is a brief blog about our day at Alton Towers. We hope you all enjoy.
After misjudging the journey time & arriving about 45 minutes too early. We finally got on the monorail with a minimum queue and plenty of monorails operating. Got to the gate just in time for opening. Headed to the box office to collect the RAP with again minimum queuing, then headed straight to Wickerman. Thankfully Wickerman was riding at its best and the jolt which was an issue before was non existent on the row we sat.
We decided to do the whole of X Sector, Enterprise included. Oblivion hold brake over the drop wasn’t very long during our ride but as always it was riding beautiful. Enterprise felt a lot more forceful since it’s refurbishment but a lot of fun. When been batched into the loading pens of The Smiler we got given back row and without a doubt we were dreading it. But for a back row ride The Smiler was 100% at its best and strongest ride we’ve had on it this season.
Thirteen is such an underrated coaster with the most underrated first drop IMO. This season we just can’t get enough of Thirteen and truthfully adore it. Rita was riding really well and has been at its strongest this season. We aren’t massive fans of Hex mainly due to us getting bored of the storyline. But even we have to admit that it was looking fantastic Saturday and we actually had the best ride we’ve ever had on it.
We decided to eat at Pizza & Pasta on Saturday and truthfully the added edition of Ice Cream was fab. But as a fussy eater there is nowhere near enough choice. I’d love to see it turn into more of buffet all you can eat with a wider range of foods instead of just Pizza really.
The rapids had a massive queue of around 70 minutes and was boat sharing so we avoided them. Runaways Mine Train is just always fun to be honest.
Duel isn’t appreciated enough I understand how the targets for the guns might of ruined the whole effects but the option to ride with / without is cool. The whole ride experience is really fun but definitely need some touching up again.
We were aiming to do the whole area including Blade but sadly it was closed all day. Both coasters within this area are some of our favourites out of the whole park really. They are just incredible and so easy to re-ride without thinking about it.
Originally we were aiming to save this attraction until Scarefest but the temptation was too much. We were so glad to experience it and had an absolute blast throughout. It really is a fab edition to Alton Towers and our favourite room was definitely the finale. If you fancy reading our full review click here. But if you haven’t already visited it yourselves we’d highly recommend you do!
Yet again another fab day at Alton Towers and no matter how many visits we have done this season so far, we still can’t get enough. All the rides were at their best and it was really nice to check out the construction for Scarefest. Our next visit will be in fact Scarefest & we will bring you all of our opinions from event too.
Will you be visiting Scarefest this season? If so what are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments below or across our socials.
