Attraction Review| Drayton Manor History Museum

Celebrating a whole 75 years of Drayton Manor and the park has put together a lovely little walk-through museum based around the park’s history. Let’s talk about this wholesome experience that the park has produced.

P.S. – I believe this museum is only around for a limited time therefore by the time you read this it may be shut already.

Free to enter, on the site of the former 4D cinema is the opportunity to head down memory lane of the park’s past. There’s a combination of physical history, screens, signs, photo opportunities and history boards to read. Accessible to everyone regardless of accessibility needs due to the walk-through being consistently flat throughout. The 4D cinema main room has a rolling show of the history of the park too.

This is an experience I have dreamed of especially at Drayton Manor. There’s something so warming about just seeing old ride props and how these rides came to be. But also looking back at memories from the park beyond our time but also from our childhood too. Drayton Manor has come so far in the last 10 years with so much transition and shift for the better. I love that the park has embraced its routes and opened up this kind of experience for guests. Simply walking through this museum emphasises just how far the park has come.

I love seeing behind the scenes of theme parks and rides. It’s right up my street but can be effortlessly appreciated by those less enthusiastic about theme parks too. Sharing old ride parts & props in this way is better than them going to waste and being binned off.  I really hope more places continue to do this kind of attraction because it’s very much appreciated.
