Merlin Attractions You Can Enjoy Whilst Pregnant!

A massive shout out to Jordan aka Cupcakes & Coasters for this idea! It’s something I strangely didn’t even think about covering before! When I fell pregnant I knew I weren’t going to stop having adventures using my Merlin Annual Pass. Trust me, it’s easier than you think to make the most of the passes as an expectant mother.

Madame Tussaud’s:

I managed to do both Madame Tussaud’s in the time of being pregnant and thoroughly appreciated them. The stroll around is very much at your own speed and more often than not there are benches or seats around almost every corner for you to catch 5. There are a lot of stairs across both of these attractions but there are also lifts. It’s one of those attractions that’s very much based upon how you take it to how much you enjoy it. If you visit London you can still ride The Spirit of London but mention it to the staff member they can advise how to sit on the ride vehicle to make it most relaxed for you. I did the ride whilst I wasn’t very big so I just turned to my side and did the trick to get around the bar leaning into my stomach.

Sea Life Centre:

Just like Madame Tussaud’s this is the same. It’s all leisurely based and something you can take however long you want to explore. Admittedly, this attraction does tend to get quite warm so bare that in mind before heading inside and take some bottles of water with you just in case you need them.

Blackpool Tower / London Eye:

I only got around to experiencing the Blackpool Tower whilst pregnant which was great fun. I bypassed the 4D aspect prior to the climb up I’m not entirely sure how safe these kinds of characteristics are for those who are carrying so I didn’t change it anyway. The lifts going up the tower can be a little cramped but I’d recommend angling yourself to avoid being squished. Of course, I’d presume it would work quite the same over at the London Eye. You do have a seat in the middle of the pods on the London Eye which I can imagine helps depending on how heavily pregnant you are.

Cadbury World:

The timing of this being added to the passes was truly a delight. This attraction again is spot-on for pregnant women. You do have the 4D cinema element which again I avoided as I’m not entirely sure how safe they are when pregnant and weren’t taking any chances. I’m sure a staff member could tell you further information about whether you can or can’t experience them. But the tour itself is great fun. The fact you can also experience the ride as well is a joy there are no lap bars or seatbelts which makes it a ton more comfortable.

Theme Parks:

Yes, theme parks! Believe it or not, I thoroughly embraced visiting the Merlin parks whilst pregnant. Admittedly, you can’t visit with the intention of doing a tremendous ordeal of rides although you can do some just check the ride boards before heading on to see which you are against. But for me, visiting for the events was a promising enough reason to visit. The introduction of events over the last few years just opens up the chance to visit the parks even as a pregnant woman and still enjoy them without any rides. Some parks offer more than that including the Sealife at both  Chessington & Alton Towers, the zoo at Chessington, the beach at Thorpe Park & Mini Land at Legoland. There’s so much to enjoy that it’s worthwhile a visit in my opinion.

I hope this helps anyone else who’s pregnant and fancies a day out. There’s so much to enjoy when your are pregnant that often can get overlooked so if you have a Merlin Annual Pass don’t stop using your pass get out there and enjoy some adventures.
