Let’s Talk Hyperia Set To Open at Thorpe Park in 2024 – Project Exodus Name Reveal

It’s official Project Exodus has been laid to bed and the brand new Mack coaster will be known as Hyperia. Who expected the announcement to happen like last night? But here we are let’s break it down and share our thoughts on the name reveal, slogan and all things Hyperia.

Hyperia – Find Your Fearless:

I believe this was one of two options for the coaster to be called. However, it’s Hyperia. The name doesn’t give much away really however if you google it, it’s very evident it has a connection to Greek meanings. The slogan for me seems very not very Thorpe Park rollercoaster but that’s not a bad thing! Will admit I have enjoyed the Taylor Swift memes… quite iconic really. I feel the name is brief and punchy but definitely will be remembered (not to ignore the similarities to Hyperion) and the slogan emphasises the UK record-beating characteristics that feature throughout.

Logo:

I don’t really know what to make of the logo! It’s very unlike what I had ever anticipated to come from Thorpe Park but again it’s really not a bad thing. I’m very captivated to see how it all ties together.

The Colour Scheme:

I’m that person who doesn’t like gold in everyday life. It’s not for me at all. But I’m hoping it’ll be a grower for sure. The white sections of the track look gorgeous. Without a doubt, the gold will be crucial to the theme or style which I appreciate. But I’m just not a gold kind of gal.

A Light Theme / Style?

A rollercoaster opening at Thorpe Park that’s potentially not a dark / horror theme or style?! Crazy right? But that being said it’s well overdue in my opinion. I’m saying style as I’m not entirely sure it’ll be themed as such and perhaps more similar to Icon will styling happening surrounding the ride itself. Of course, I could be wrong but that’s something only time will tell. The park generally has such a bright feel to it that a lighter scary theme will be immaculate for the park.

Our Thoughts:

I actually quite like the name. I was apprehensive it was going to be something cringeworthy referring to the height so that’s a nice surprise that it’s not. Sure, it’s similar to a fellow hypercoaster in Poland but it has its own identity at that. It’s definitely got me intrigued by how the area is going to look inside the station. Either way, it’s exactly what we all longed for as enthusiasts and that’s a brand new rollercoaster at Thorpe Park with what we can presume will be a lighter theme. The name isn’t that deep really it’s more on how it’ll ride in my opinion. But we’re both super excited for 2024 to see this brand new iconic rollercoaster open in the UK and take the title of the tallest & fastest … it’s another one of those memorable moments as a UK enthusiast for sure!
