The new trend from me on my blogs is late blogs✨ I do apologise. So, a few weeks back I headed to Alton Towers on my off-peak solo trip. Let’s be honest, off-peak days are simply THE best there’s no way around that.
Beginning my day by jumping on the quiet monorail across to the main entrance. There’s something extra special about riding the monorail this season with Nemesis 2.0 being re-born. Although you can’t capture any photos or videos unless you’re blessed with the front or back carriage it’s still so exciting watching it come back to life. Heading into the park to be welcomed by The Smiler actors as it was still the festival of the thrills which has since ended. If you want to see my thoughts on that event click HERE.
It was perfectly quiet and you know that by the fact that Tower Street was ghostly peaceful. Heading straight towards The Curse where it was EERIE that walk into the area with the few actors dotted about and literally been the only the person there, yeah spooky. As always The Curse is stunning. Unnerving alone. But gorgeous. Next, my plan was to check out the activity from The Phalanx investigation over the Nemesis site. On photos, the new viewing platform likes moderately bigger than it actually is! But at the moment there’s not a great ordeal to see or at least at that time there wasn’t. However, once the new tracks begin to take place over the viewable sections the platform offers the view-off will be exciting. It’s also tremendous to see Sub Terra testing too. It’s surely got to open VERY soon.
All of the rides were around 5 to 30 minutes for their queues which were wonderful. It’s also nice to have that time to stroll around and grab content without having to dodge at least 20 people. Controversially I also found myself surprised by how inexpensive the prices were for drinks across the park. I brought a large full fat coke for only £2.40 with discount. That to me is reasonable. But maybe that’s cause I’m still recuperating from the Disneyland Paris prices.
Overall, it was a truly fab day. It was so chilled and everywhere was rather quiet too. We will be heading back to the park to check out Mardi Gras very soon!
