As an inquisitive theme park fan, I find myself guessing in my head as to what could be happening to those rides that are undergoing refurbishment or closure. One of these said rides is Duel. Our precious Duel. It closed back in September with the marketing of “house has been repossessed”. Do you get it? Smart, right? Therefore, what could be going on with this ride?
Personally, I believe Emily is about to take over this ride. The small girl inside that dol’s house has got a lot of context to bring to this ride & share with us. Admittedly, if I am right this could be vile for someone like me who finds doll-like characters traumatising. That whole characteristic is something I’ll be very scared of.
I can see the guns being removed and the majority of the theming taken out. In all honesty, I can’t quite visualise the ride system being touched by any means. However, I think this will be borderline a brand-new ride experience. If the ride system was to be touched I’d love to see a trackless one replace it. If you’re going to make a spooky ride go all out and make it horrifically terrifying with free-moving carriages. That’s the only way I can think of this situation. If it’s going to be along the lines of Duel & not remotely scary I’ll be quite sad.
If Emily is taking over then I can’t wait to see how it’ll be accomplished. But also I can’t wait to see them market it again. As the team has been on point lately. Regardless of what happens, I’m confident the existing creative team will smash it out of the park. They are in the role of creating gorgeous attractions & I know this will be no exception.
In regards to the opening date, I reckon we’ll see it open in late March perhaps even late April. I feel it has to reopen next year to help fill the void that is Nemesis else there’ll be next to the reason for us (for example) heading that way. We don’t particularly bother with much else at that end of the sticks without Duel & Nemesis being an option. However, not giving us a date is a smart move just in case it takes longer than planned & in case of any delays (which I doubt).
