Hotel Review | Big Blue Deluxe Double Room

We have stayed in the Big Blue hotel numerous times before but after seeing some promo including the room with the fireplace I couldn’t resist booking it for Ant’s birthday! Here are my thoughts and any information I think is useful for those wanting or who have an upcoming stay booked.

Check In & Car Parking:

Check-in is very easy & is like any other hotel you visit. Simply head to reception and give your name then you’ll receive your room key alongside your room number. Car parking is available on-site for a fee of £10 if you book directly through The Big Blue website if you book through a partnered site it is more. This car parking fee covers you from 12 pm – 12 pm. This then means you have to pay double the parking if you are visiting the park at either end of your stay. Just a little money-saving tip on this front if you don’t mind parking your car elsewhere, there are cheaper spaces some are free nearby. It’s always worth scoping out.

The Room:

The room was huge. Within the room, there’s a bottle of sparkling & still water alongside some shortbread. You have a selection of hot drinks including coffee, decaf coffee, teabags and hot chocolate. There’s a hairdryer, heated towel rack and fireplace also. Not to forget the iron & ironing board & wardrobe space.

It’s virtually like you have a living room attached to your bedroom. The bed itself is king-size and comfort levels are very high. We didn’t want to get out of it in the morning haha. The TV is also 40” which great for laying in bed watching something.

The bathroom design is so pleasing on the eyes. There’s a light-up makeup mirror and a full-size bath alongside complimentary toiletries too.

So, the room itself is beautiful & has these naturally relaxed vibes. Large spacious windows which let in so much light & the gorgeous fireplace. There’s nothing to not enjoy about this room.

The Pricing:

Honestly, the pricing at the time of our booking was not far off the standard room prices. We paid perhaps another £30 to have the deluxe. It is well worth the price if you are going to spend time within the room if you’re going to be out most of the day you are better off spending less money on the same sort of comfort as the standard rooms are lovely too. We managed to make our money’s worth by staying til just before checking out and spending time before going out on the day of check-in.

Breakfast:

As always the breakfast was lovely. I did find the continental options weren’t particularly great. However, the cooked food options were delicious.

Overall:

All in all, I always highly rate The Big Blue it is one of those hotels that is beautiful. It’s somewhere which we always opt towards staying at whenever we are in the area. The staff are lovely and there’s not much to fault either. One of the perks of staying here is the hotel exclusive the entrance which is extremely quieter than the main. Not to forget they now offer Pleasure Beach packages too when booking online. If you don’t however purchase your tickets at the time of booking you can purchase them from reception at a discounted rate.
